Hi guys, hope you are ok, i have been feeling better, im aware of the results of the poll so yeah, those will be the characters for the next video, I didn't expect the vote to be so close but i liked your choice so i hope to make a good job with them.
I was working on the environment, i will be using a stage from the actual game but with a different atmosphere, i wanted a kind of night/fantasy/dark vibe for it even im not used to create that with Blender but i think it looks decent, maybe i will adjust some colors later. You can see Kangxi model in the pictures but it is just because i wanted to test how the body would look with the stages light and because i will use her body base for Ei and Miko.
I did some research too about some details about my workflow that i dont like, first one was that i use C4D to remove imperfections on the surface of the models, but i discovered that you can actually do that in Blender with the "Weld" modifier, i felt so dump haha, so now i can save a extra step. Another thing was "Normals" and how light interacts with the face, anime style models have a weird topology that makes the shading look bad on the face, you can see this in almost any MMD model rendered in a 3D software, in my last video i struggle with it, i tried to play with the lights to hide it but it is not optimal, i learned that you can manipulate how the light affects a surface using "Custom Normals", it can give a flatter look to the face, like in anime.
I was able to make work a MMD tool that allows me to "bake" physics and IK motions, saving them in a VMD file, sadly it has a issue, it doesnt register the rotation of the physics bones, it is suposed to do it tho, if this worked would be amazing for me, maybe some day i will find out how to solve it.
Last thing i did was to add ass bones to the body base of Kangxi, im not good with the weight painting but the result was ok, i really liked the animations in my Marin video, you know, the ones with ass physics, i think they add another layer to the motion that can make it more interesting so i will be trying to do it again in the next work.
Sorry for all the techinical stuff, i just enjoy learning new things, i will keep working on the video, see you later.
