Oooh, 2 notes on this one. 1st, when the detective scans the winners list, we see that the first winner on that page is from the 80s, which could be where you saw the 8. But yeah, the games seem to have been happening for 30-40 years at this point. 2nd point, Sangwoo and Ali's convo. I'm not sure which translation you're using, but a lot of people seem to miss this tidbit. When Sangwoo tells Ali to stop calling him "sir" he offers "hyung" as the alternative. In general that word is used to refer to someone in an older brother-y position. Also, Sangwoo has called our Mc hyung for the entirety of the show up until this point. I'm just saying this bc it adds a little more context as to the expectations and dynamics between characters. I'm happy you're enjoying this show so much!

Ali, as the only immigrant and non-Korean character, really adds another layer to poverty, classism, and xenophobia within the story. Especially, the idea that the wealthy have of fairness and equality in the show. Nothing could ever be truly fair because of each indivuals life before.
