You hit the nail on the head, this is the start of glee creating storylines that are meaningful but still done in a humorous way for the most part. Also Rachel’s main personality trait is that she’s very ambitious and she won’t let anything get in her way and that’s why people either love or hate Rachel, no in between. The character development for some of these characters is honestly very good for a show like glee. And don’t worry Mercedes will have her moments in the show to really shine

Great reaction! I do love this episode. What you were talking about at the end with finding out things about the characters is kinda the thing with Glee. All the characters start out as complete stereotypes. The cheerleader, the jock, the badboy, the gay guy, etc... And then the show keeps adding stuff to their characters that makes them more than that. The other thing you have to understand about this show is it was a huge thing with middle/highschoolers. Partially because it was funny, but for a lot of people pretty seriously too. So when it started to get that huge following it started bringing more serious topics into the storylines, as kind of teaching moments. The other thing about Quinn, is I know she did cheat, but she's 15/16 in this, and I think the reason they make you feel bad for her is the cheating was a stupid mistake, but now she's a pregnant teenager in a very small conservative town. This is literally gonna completely change her life, and wreck her reputation. The cheating was a stupid mistake, but it was one that a lot of stupid highschoolers make, and the pregnancy kinda overshadows that. I do agree though that she's being irrationally hard on Finn, and it's wrong of her to hold him to helping her when it's not his kid. Anyways, great reaction! To me, this is kinda where the show starts getting good. Can't wait for the next one!
