My family is from Zacatecas. Most my cousins out there boycott avocados due to the cartel.

The most tragic part of the cartels is that they eradicate small ranch towns. I went to my mothers home town in 2018 only to find a ghost town. One of my uncles was the last holdout of arroyo seco, ZAC and got kidnapped.

It never ceases to amaze me that Liz and Brace can do this podcast full time and tour as the band Khruangbin simultaneously.

I was down in CDMX when AMLO tried to capture Chapo's son in Culiacan - and it went realy poorly. The footage on the news was wild. The Cartels are so strapped.

Anyone have a link to the documentary Seth recommended?

I cannot remember what the name of it was, do you know?

I have a PDF of La CIA en Mexico if Seth still needs it!

35 min into the podcast and my mind flashes back to scenes in "No Country for Old Men" - Woody Harrelson in an office tower

This episode is horrifying. Really wish it had been a 2-parter, or you revisit the subject soon. There were just too many times Seth didn’t have time to get into topics that sounded really interesting.

Was just trying to rescan for that as well. Did you find it?
