Episode was great and generally well explained but start maybe needs more context. Home Secretary combines aspect of what in the USA would be DHS and policing aspects of DOJ. Top cop basically. It is considered part of the big 3 cabinet jobs that sets you up as a potential future PM. The others being Foreign Secretary (Sec of State) and Chancellor of the Exchequer (Treasury Secretary). Inquiry is probably best described as the equivalent of a special commission I.e Warren Commission.

another thing im thinking now that im at the end of the ep is just how similar this sounds to how a lot of the left operates on its own (speaking from experience); ik that's probably a bitter pill for this comments section but i know too many people who've had their livelihoods and homes and families threatened by online and irl mobs acting to protect whatever media guild they belong to from analysis and opinions that threaten their dogma
