im in south dakota and our insane trump worshipping governor never shut anything down at all and just posted a bunch of jesus shit on her twitter. we got a huge outbreak, one of the worst in the nation per capita, in our only really significant city because of it. fortunately i live a long way away from that and it's very rural here so there's some natural insulation.

covid is giving a bunch of young people who are big time cowards the coverage to virtue signal that their cowardice is good actually. 25% seroprevalence in NYC per state tests. 2/3 of NYC is between age 0-44. What does that make the death rate for young people (also known as the goddamn workforce)? Try and tell me there is a good argument that people in South Carolina need to be unemployed and having to drive through 2 hour long waits at the foodbank with their kids in the car.

I had expected more too. Yeah, I get it, it's a bunch of rightwingers protesting, all Trump supporters it's true yadda yadda. But the stats on the Ronavirus suggest it's basically about as lethal as the regular flu. And the death projections have been wildly off. And shutting down the economy of the world, regardless of what one thinks about capitalism, hurts the little people like you and me because we depend on it no matter how much it sucks.
