Hello, it's Kimura from the dormitory.

Here's my dorm diary entry for August. The heat's been pretty relentless lately. I hope everyone's keeping cool.

At my office, they finally fixed the broken air conditioner. It's made working so much more comfortable. But stepping out can be brutal when you're inside enjoying the cool air for too long. I've tried to counteract this by going for light jogs, but keeping up the habit is tough. I stumbled upon a local stand selling summer veggies on a recent jog. I picked up some tomatoes and eggplants, and they've been really tasty. On the work front, I've gotten the hang of being an assistant key animator. There's room for improvement in drawing speed, details, and action scenes, but I've been getting some encouraging feedback from the team. It’s been rewarding. Starting next month, I'll dive into layout training.

I've always been curious about scene framing and layout and am genuinely excited about this opportunity. Learning directly from the seasoned pros in the studio? Can't wait! In my previous dorm diary, I talked about practicing with color and backgrounds. It's been a while since I shared any of that work, so I whipped up a colored illustration as a little summer treat. I'm eager to improve even more with the upcoming training. I'm determined to give my all to this month’s tasks and maintain high standards. Catch you in the next update, Kimura, August 7, 2023.

こんにちは。お世話になっております。寮生の木村です。8月の寮生日記を投稿致します。

とても暑い日が続いています。みなさんどうお過ごしでしょうか。

わたしは会社の壊れていたエアコンが直り、快適に仕事が出来ています。快適なところでの生活に慣れすぎると、外に出た瞬間ばててしまうので、軽いランニングなどするように心がけていますが、なかなか続かないものですね。先日、近所を走っていると夏野菜の直売所を見つけました。トマトやナスを買ってきておいしく頂いています。

さて、お仕事についてですが、最近、第二原画にも慣れてきました。作画のスピードやデティール、芝居にまだまだ課題はありますが、社内からもほめていただくことが増えてきて、楽しく制作できています。

来月からレイアウトの研修を始めていただくことにもなりました。画面作りやレイアウトには前から興味があって、習えることをとても嬉しく思っています。とくにベテランの上手い方に直接教われることはとても楽しみです。

以前の寮生日記はカラーで背景も描く練習をしていたのですが、最近はそういった絵をあげられていなかったので、暑中見舞いとしてカラーイラストを描きました。今の画面がさらに良くなるように研修、頑張りたいと思います。

また、今月の仕事も次につながるように、手を抜かずに頑張ります。
