Hope you're having a good end to the work week!

I've got some fun content to show off this week that's also available in the newest build.  


1: What's New

The later part of this week was focused on both improving the attack animations for the player character and for bringing some more visual variety to the Wall Mounted Prisoners.

Previously the prisoner was a single character art. Which made rescuing multiples of them a little bit awkward. 

Now what I've done is created a number of hair pieces, body shapes and tail pieces. They where all exported greyscaled so they could be colored in-engine. 

I also added 1 additional tickle torture tool. A trio of tickle brushes:

So now when each prisoner asset spawns in the dungeon it chooses the following from a list to create a variety of permutations:

  • Fur and Hair Color
  • Hair And Tail Style
  • Body Shape
  • Type of Peril / Level of Intensity
  • If they're gagged or not.

I'll be using this model going on when creating new types of prisoner perils. The "Wall Mounted" is our WIP template that's a proof of concept for more to come!

I also created color templates for the cultists. So their coloration will also be randomized. :D


Failed for now: Movement Sprites.

The first few days of the week was spent creating some really nice looking "Movement" sprites for the player character.

Unfortunately while these sprites look great on their own, they don't quite work the way I wanted them to once in game. So for now they're not present in the build. Honestly what I had before looks much better.

My thoughts is that later on if a dash mechanic is introduced that allows for multiple tile movement I'll use them for that.


2: What's Next

For the first week of August I'll get in a technical feature people want. I'll put in the code to allow for switching the resolution settings to an adjustable windowed mode, as well as look at what other options I can get in for the game. 

I have a friend who's also gonna help me expand the stamina gameplay functionality.
