This show had so much potential. Could have been vastly improved by cutting out Reva and actually focusing more on Obi-Wan and Vader. The visuals, music, etc. were all pretty poor too, overall the show just looks cheap and watching Andor after this really shows it.

If you were iffy on the show, I highly recommend looking up The Patterson Cut. It’s a fan made edit that cuts the show into a 2 1/2 hour movie and makes come very much needed changes here and there

They definitley could’ve changed a lot of things with this show especially having both Ewan and Hayden come back to reunite their roles which respectfully a lot of fans wanted. The pacing was the biggest problem for me imo I think Vader and Kenobi shouldn’t have met face to face until the finale.

If there was one thing this show was missing, it was the music. Aside from those last few scenes, there's no music from the originals or the prequels. The Imperial March, Leia's theme, the Force Theme, are all used in those last scenes, but really needed to be used more often. The fact that neither Duel of the Fates or Battle of Heroes was used for that last fight is baffling to me. The Order 66 scene at the start of the show is the only Order 66 scene to not have a variation of "Anakin's Betrayal" or "Anakin's Dark Deeds", which is kind of unacceptable to me.

Leia and Obi wan’s relationship was my favorite part of the show and you kept cutting your reactions to those scenes 🥹

Cindira

Both Asoka and Obi cut different sides of his mask.

Fulcrum Agent

Of course after being stabbed like 5 times reva still lives on without facing consequences

Jared Staley

Rewatch rogue one before Andor? Top 3 Star Wars movie imo

Akash Rajan

Exactly. I get using the music sparingly and i actually agree. But this is the type of show where you have the long weeping force thence scattered throughout and have the thunderous imperial march going. If there was any Star Wars material to ever do it, it was this.

Supply Drop

Kenobi may has it's problems, but it overall was a good addition to the universe, at least in my opinion.

This show had a $90 mil budget. Mando S1 had $100 mil budget. Obi-Wan show was $15 mil per episode and Mando was $12.5 mil per episode. It definitely was not a money problem that made this show bad. This should have been a movie, which is what it was originally supposed to be. I feel like they tried too hard to spread their original script for the movie over 6 episodes of tv, which seemed to affect choreography, cinematography, and acting.

As for why Obi-Wan didn’t kill Vader, here or way back in Revenge of the Sith, it’s because he follows the Jedi code, and Jedi aren’t supposed to kill helpless enemies. They may use deadly force in self-defense, or the defense of others, but only when there are no alternatives. They protect life. Taking a life when it’s not absolutely necessary is Dark Side.

The most sense I can make of Reva's going after Luke was to hurt Vader... to take away his family the way he had taken away hers. As to Vader not knowing he had a son... all she'd have to do is send word of Luke's death (or, she might have sent his body), it would not have taken a whole lot to connect the dots on Vader's end. It was a mistake on Vader's part to not at least dispatch a squadron of TIE fighters to continue after the insurgents (if not the Grand Inquisitor's to suggest it) if the Star Destroyer was going to go after Kenobi.

As someone else said before, taking off a part of the mask is a metaphore. Ashoka managed to take off one part, which means that Anakin was brought back for a minute. Obi managed to take off the other part, but only Luke was able to take the whole mask off at the end of Return of the Jedi, and bring Anaking back completely.

2023-05-19 05:40:13 Yes Obi-Wan in a New Hope Sacrificed himself only so Luke Leia Han Chewie 3po & R2 could escape because they wouldn’t board the millennium Falcon without him if he was still alive. And overall, if you are already at your twilight and you know as a Jedi there’s existence beyond death. The sacrifice wasn’t all that bad for Kenobi.
