I went through an especially painful breakup last year. Would I choose to erase all the memories? If you would have asked me 3 months ago, I would have said yes. But now the answer is no.

Jim Carrey will always be the goat!

Ace Ventura, The Mask, Love You Phillip Morris, Me Myself and Irene, so many good ones from him!

First time viewing the movie can be really hectic but you caught onto a lot pretty fast. I've seen it dozens of times and I still catch new connections that I missed before. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time! Beautifully painful.

I'm not sure if you've already seen it but Punch Drunk Love is a movie similar to this that I think you'll enjoy!

Just finished your reaction. Loved what you had to say about it. This movie came into my life at a time that really changed my perspective on pain. I remember after my first breakup, I wished there was a pill I could take to forget about him. A few years later, this movie came out and I loved the premise. After watching it, my takeaway is that memories are essential for growth, especially the bad ones. Kristen Dunst’s character would basically make the same mistake over and over again because she had her memory of the affair erased. That’s why she ended up mailing everything to the clients, because she came to realize that running away from that pain is more harmful in the long run. This movie has such and interesting concept and makes you think AND feel. I teared up again watching Joel tried SO HARD to retain some memory of Clementine. Getting rid of the bad memories isn’t worth getting rid of the good ones.
