One Last Time (Patreon)

After traversing the ivory maze for what felt like an eternity, Imogen kept running towards the distant voice calling her name. It was Laudna calling in sorrow, and she knew it would be the last time they would see each other before the inevitable.

'Laudna! I see you!!' Imogen screamed to the visage of her pale friend, who was seemingly not able to move from the cubic altar she was lying on.

'Imogen! I can't move! I-- I feel--' She replied while Imogen ran to her. 'I feel I am fading away--'

'No, Laudna! Please!' She climbed the altar and hugged her dearly; 'Please stay with me!' Imogen begged.

Laudna forced a smile, and a single dark tear ran through her cheek: 'I am not ready to go, Imogen.'

And they kissed for the last time. For the last time before Imogen woke up, that is! She woke up in the warm company of her dear friend Laudna: "I'm not going anywhere," she whispered, breaking the silence between them as she nestled her head into Imogen's neck and breathed deeply of her scent."I missed you so much."
