New Ambience: Western Watchtower (Patreon)

Greetings Patrons,
On a desolate hill, overlooking a narrow pass in the mountains, stand the ruins of a once formidable defensive tower. When attacking hordes approached, archers and mages could dispatch them at great distances. The Western Watchtower was a crucial part of the defense of the realm. But that was many years ago.
Today, what is left of the tower still sits on top of that hill. A tattered banner clings resolutely above the entrance as a reminder of who it protected.
The music here is dramatic underscore. It ebbs and flows and almost seems to crest in places, but it's more about a memory of action than action itself. Distant drums, tortured strings, and low winds meander in and out of frame. Basso profundo provides a bit of nostalgic militarism.
The ambience, is insistent wind, crumbling rock, and a lone horse (yours?) tied to a post outside. It should sound fairly cold and unforgiving.
This track is in Patreon-only sneak-peek mode at the moment, so I've included a mixed-version, ambience-only, and music-only versions here. Additionally, I created 2 'no horse' versions for those of you who arrived on foot or didn't find a random horse tied up out front (or, the horse left?). As always, I couldn't decide which I liked better, so you get both.
Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.
Best,
Tim
