Greetings patrons, and happy 2021 to us all!,

What better way to usher in a new year than with the den of a giant spider?

No small feat for me, as I'm terrified of even the tiny ones!  This was a request from over the summer so I'm sure that person's party has already slain the beast. For the rest of you, however, this will make an appropriately creepy set piece in which to place a story.

It's not a battle track in the least. I designed this to be more pre or post battle actually. It's higher on the creep scale than simply 'blades out'. Lots of questions in this one: "I can hear it, I know it's in here - but where?" This will also work well for alien 'egg-room' type scenarios. In fact, anything dark and skittery.

I've added music-only and ambience-only versions of this track here for patrons.

The music-only version is more tonal and vibey than musical. In fact, in many places it becomes indistinguishable from the ambience. I used percussion and string clusters in places to mimic the sound of spiders moving about. I think it would work well as a generic 'creepy' track in suspense or horror scenarios.

The ambience-only is what you'd expect from a spider's den - skittering, sticky webs, crunching and an eerie constant howling through ancient webs.

Glad to be back after a lovely week off with my family. Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This is really good. Sets a great tone. Side Question: We are doing Storm Kings Thunder and I thought there was a eagle scream that I could use for Griffins. Is it listed under something else?

Yep, that's terrifying! Well done! (Also, now trying to come up with a scenario for my campaign that would do it justice. :-) )

There are 3 Hawks that could work (search for hawk in Custom SoundPad). Also the Vultures from Wasteland might work for a different type of sound. -Tim

Super creepy. One of your best horror ones to date.
