Greetings Patrons,

A number of recent requests for some "cold, not particularly friendly, northern villages" got me guessing that one or two of you were planning to run some games in Icewind Dale.

As I'm not well versed in this location I had to do some reading and youtubing. As longtime readers/listeners know, I don't usually like to do super game-specific ambiences. That is, I try to make sure that ambiences have a certain degree of utility, and can be used in a variety of stories. So, while this ambience is inspired by The Ten Towns of D&D's Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure, it will also work for any story set in a cold, harsh, northern environment.

Townspeople mill about, all muffled under their thick outer garments. Dogs, when they're not out pulling sleds, howl in their pens, tavern doors (the one bright feature of these towns) open and close.

The musical portion of the track is fairly dark, but I tried not to cross the line into 'ominous'. I've included both music-only and ambience-only versions here for patrons.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

This is really soothing. I've been listening to a "Haunted North" playlist on Spotify while working, which is just a bunch of sounds of different blizzards, and this fits right in. More than Icewind Dale (although, cool setting that I'm excited to play in), I think I might use this one to get in the zone at work lol.

Just in time for winter in Minnesota. :)

God, this is good! Thank you very much! (Also: Thanks for keeping up the numbered naming scheme! It makes organizing my library of Tabletop Audio files a lot easier! :) )

Collectors! Browsing through my TT material, I only just discovered that I've got the original 9:57 minute false pressing of "Orbital Promenade" from 2017 (3 seconds shorter!). If anyone is interested: just give me a shout!
