Greetings Patrons,

This is my 6th annual Halloween ambience. I just read that again and found it slightly hard to believe.

I listened to some of the classic horror soundtracks and as always, nothing provokes that sense of beauty and dread so well as gothic horror. Looming castles, beautiful people clad in black, ghostly figures floating down stairways, elaborate empty rooms.

All Hallow's Eve is the soundtrack to a non-existent black and white horror film. Even better, it's the soundtrack to your black and white horror film.

For the instrumentation, I went straight to the greatest hits of horror orchestration. Music boxes, theramins, eerie choirs, basso voices and metallic percussion. I even allowed myself to rosin up an actual bow and channel Frau "He vahs my boyfriend!"  Blucher from Young Frankenstein for some creepy solo violin bits.

Because the music portion is fairly dense I didn't want to overdo the ambience . It's a fairly sparse composition of rain, wind, thunder and the occasional horse and carriage.

I've included a music-only version as well as an ambience-only version here for Patreon patrons.

I know that Halloween 2020 won't be what any of us was really hoping for, but that doesn't mean we can't tell each other spooky stories by candlelight and have a great time.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

Class stuff, as always!

Dvorak

That's you on the violin then, Tim? Excellent stuff. I really like this theatric pose that's quite different to the previous "Now, here come evil monsters"-Halloween pieces.

James Palmer

This is totally going on the PA for Halloween - though there may not be any trick or treaters this year. But my wife and I can enjoy the tunes while I eat all the candy ourselves.
