Greetings Patrons (and guests!),

I started working on this piece during the first week of lockdown here in New York City. I didn't think it was going to turn out to be something of use for Tabletop Audio at the time. I had a simple solo cello line in mind and I just wanted to get it down and move on. My hard drive is full of little sketches like this. As I worked on other things I kept checking back on it and thinking that there was something about it that made me keep wanted to work on it. I guess it was meditative, a kind of island away from the chaos of the news.

As I worked on it I noticed that it was just a kind of reflection of my thoughts, my studio, the near constant rain outside, my kids wondering what was for lunch (a new type of weekday interruption to be sure) and everything else.

There's a version of this that's slightly more polished - timings adjusted, levels controlled - but it lacked something. So I went back to an earlier version which was a bit rougher, but I liked it more. Most of you creative types know exactly what I mean.

Anyway, enough rambling, here's Haven. A place I went to for a while and figured it was worth sharing. I'm including a music-only version (without the weather ambience) for those of you might want to add this to a different location.

I'm also making this post available to everyone, not just patrons, because we're all locked inside and it seems like the right thing to do.

Be well, stay safe, stay sane.

Thank you all, as always, for your continuing support.

Best,

Tim

I love it! I love the ambiance in it. It's totally matching my isolation currently! Having been exposed I've been quarantined even away from my kids :( This hits home and how I'm feeling. Thank you!

This is really great, thank you. <3

Love it! I think it also works as a sad sort of background track - it put me in mind of one or two refugees on a long journey through a desolate landscape. And thank you for providing the music only track - definitely needed when the main track has rain sounds!

This is absolutely lovely. Thank you for this, and all the other awesome tracks. Also, I think releasing it to everyone was the right move.

Tormented Artifacts

Absolutely love this one, and I have a feeling it's what I'm going to be using for when my tabletop group can finally get back together again for the final session of the current campaign. (yeah, great timing quarantine, we had one session left to wrap a three-year campaign, and boom.)

I've been using this for my Werewolf the Forsaken RPG stream. It's great!
