Prologue 6 – Status and Skills

Ooooh, it’s the status window I’ve been dreaming of!

“You guys love that kind of thing, don’t you? I’ll go ahead and explain.”

[Name]

This is as its namesake. Your name.

[Race]

You are an apostle sent by me. However, if a local person appraises you, you will be labeled as a human. I’ll explain the different races when we proceed to the [Appraisal] part.

[Age]

In your case, you did not start at the age of zero (0), even though you were reincarnated. You can be any age you want, but I thought it would be easier for you to do various activities at this age.

[Life Force]

This is your life force expressed as a percentage. When you are at your best, it is 100; when it reaches 0, you are dead. This is just a guideline. Even if your life force is 100, you will die instantly if you are beheaded, and you will not die if you hit your pinky finger against the corner of a chest even if you have 1 Life Force left. You can think of it as HP (hit points) in a way.

[Magic Power]

Think of it as MP. You consume it when you use magic and some skills. However, unlike the games that Japanese people like to play, you will feel very sick if this number is reduced to zero. In some cases, you may even lose consciousness. Also, if you consume 30-60% or more at once, you will feel sick, so be careful. You can recover it after a time or when you rest.

[Physical Strength]

This is the total value of your physical ability. It affects physical attack and defense. Dexterity and speed are also included here.

[Mental Strength]

Just as you see it. It affects magic-related effects and resistance.

[Luck]

As it says. You can’t do much about this, but I think you’re a lucky guy considering you got my blessing.

By the way, the average for adult males is 10 for each ability. In your case, you start at 10 times that level. However, even if you are 10 times luckier, it does not mean you are 10 times stronger than the average. I’m sorry, but I don’t understand it well enough to explain it to others. Treat it as a mere guideline.

Next, let’s look at the skills you’ve been waiting for.

[Xaneela’s Blessing]

As you can see, this is my blessing. This is important, so I’ll explain it in detail later.

[Universal Appraisal (Appraisal)]

You know what this is, right? When you want to know information about an object, you can use it to view it like a status window, just like what you are doing now. Locals could only use [Appraisal], but you can use [Universal Appraisal], which has the same effect as the [Appraisal] skill at max level. Also, when a local uses [Appraisal] to you, even if the user’s Appraisal skill Lv. is maxed, the name in the parentheses will be displayed. (Hidden) means that the item itself is not displayed in public. Only you can see it.

Also, skills have levels, the maximum being 5. If there is no “Lv X” next to the skill name, it means that the skill does not have a skill level.

The higher the skill level, the more you’ll be able to do better things with that skill.

The only way to raise a skill level is to use that skill a lot or to hone the skills associated with it.

[All Language Comprehension]

In the world you are about to enter, there are various races such as elves, dwarves, halflings, beasts, and demons, in addition to humans, a race similar to you in the original world. All of which are called people, humankind, and humanity. Yes. “Humanity” here consists of all humanoid sentient beings, not just humans that you know. Well, I cannot tell you exactly where to draw the line, as it is vague, because if we go by the definition, then I will be included as a part of “Humanity,” too. But I’m not cause I’m a Goddess~.

Anyways, there will be times when a language would differ from species to species and country to country, but even though that is the case, you will still be able to understand their words and vice versa as if it came from a Japanese local. This is related to the goddess’s blessing, which I will explain later. It is because to have children with a woman of that world, you are required to understand their language first.

If somehow, you cannot communicate with them even though they are humanoid beings, then that only means that they are monsters, and being monsters means you won’t be able to impregnate and make children with them.

[Storage Unit (Storage)]

In your world, this is what we call an item box, the ability to store things in a different space. There is a local skill called [Storage], but its capacity depends on the user’s Magic and Mental Strength. The skill ranges from about the size of a large backpack to a storage room that can hold a hundred people. Compared to that, your [Storage Unit] has unlimited capacity!

By the way, time stops for your stored objects. There is also an automatic dismantling after defeating a monster, providing you the ultimate convenience possible. However, as I mentioned earlier, the capacity of a normal [Storage] is determined by one’s Magic and Mental Strength, so putting a large amount of stuff would make you stand out. Since you’re Japanese, I think I need not to remind you what will happen if you stand out, right? Anyways, provide caution when using the skill. Or any of your skills, for that matter.

[Divine Skill: Lv1]

This is a very important skill. This is also a unique skill that does not show up in [Appraisal] of the local populace. To put it bluntly, it’s a [Sexual Skill]. I will also explain this in detail later.

[Light Magic Lv1]

As you have imagined, there is magic in the world you are about to enter. Magic has six attributes: fire, wind, water, earth, light, and darkness. There is also a compound attribute that combines multiple attributes, but I won’t go into that now. Unfortunately, you can only use light magic. Of course, Light Magic isn’t a one-trick pony, as you can use basic attack, recovery, healing, and support magic with it. For the details, please check them once you’re on site.

[Swordsmanship: Lv1], [Spearmanship: Lv1], [Bowmanship: Lv1]

I have equipped you with the minimum level of martial arts available. The rest should be trained locally. Nevertheless, you can rest assured that you won’t be beaten easily by any mooks or thieves out there.

[Horsemanship Lv5]

It’s a skill that allows you to ride a horse, or any cavalry-related mount, for that matter. This includes monsters and beasts. I made it so that you could ride them because of your soon-to-be profession as a [Holy Knight].

“And that’s about it.”

“Uwaaa… that was long…”

“But you’re Japanese, so you should understand most of it, don’t you?”

“Well, I can’t deny that.”

“Anyway, all that explaining had me exhausted, so let’s take a break.”
