Hi

Thenais

thx. feels like Rain got a new patreon.

Ezio Azrael

Thank you very much my man, keep up the hard work. Also, First!! *Forth

Ziggy

AH. Ameliah's class names! Swweeeeet. Man that is a hell of a powerful class. Most people need to waste skill points on lower tier skills to unlock the higher ones in the same or related branches. Besides the obvious utility in being able to swap around skills, her "go to" build could have skill points invested in almost only high tier skills or exclusively useful skills. And confirmation she wasn't "just" a jack, and it evolved into a legendary.

Anonymous

Holy fuck Ameliah has a dope class Thx for the chap

Anonymous

I was waiting for this chapter endlessly

The-Anti-Akuma

God Rain is being so dramatic! I'm pretty damn sure if any of them were in danger, she would step in. Or at the very least make sure no one was maimed.

Keifru

Not gonna lie. What did he expect giving a bound item to someone else? Like...thats really basic Game 101 stuff. I'm pretty sure that stuff was explained to him when he got his armor originally as well, which is why they were harping on him to bind it so much because until he did, he had a target painted on him.

Empty Shelf

I like that we get to see Rain making the most of his skills, but also showing where they fall short. His auras are versatile enough to pull off some decent tricks, but he can't measure up to a front-line fighter or a combat-focused mage. Still, he can cover his bases pretty well, and Purify continues to impress. I'm wondering what would happen if he were to "purify" the dungeon core... And dammit Kettel, just call him the Purifier and be done with it...

Ziggy

Another enjoyable chapter. Already mentioned the love for the Ameliah class details so her perspective was good. Tallheart's begging Ameliah for help actually made me laugh again, kudos. I think we all assumed Lady V was pushing Rain and wondering when he'd make a stand. Her perspective this chapter was also enjoyable. Her gradually saying, "he's shit except for like every spell I've seen" was well done. Assumed she'd realize his utility/dynamo and want her own beacon but.. fuck that. She's gonna have her hands full soon. Ohhh shit looks like the Empire finally showed up and killed a hoe! Poor Tabot. Shouldn't have tried stalking Ameliah lol.

Michael Hughes

I have a hard time committing to games that lock you into a limited build. I prefer to be able to get any skill even if I only use a couple. It is why I haven't played the new Final Fantasy XII instead staying with the open skill system. Ameliah's class would save me from making a final decision. Pair that with using experience to unlock all of the skill trees and using the respec to try different skill combinations you could unlock any rare hidden skill that is not class locked. Mapping all of that out could help people get a great build like what Rain is doing with the passivist. It would require endless grinding but that is what I love in RPGs they give me a very real fake sense of accomplishment.

Ziggy

Ohh shit yeah she could unlock... all the things. I mean there's (at least) 144 trees so it would be extremely difficult to unlock ALL of them. But a few related trees she's interested in? Yeah her class is nuts!

Ziggy

The owner of the spear didn't tell anyone it was bound. Hence Lady V's reaction of incredulity and laughter when Kettel tries to use it and we find out. Cause why the fuck would an unawakened bind something?

Anonymous

damn this was one good chap. I can't wait for the next release! Does anyone know any similar RPG stories where the MC uses the system in smart ways?

Thenais

he wouldn't have lost thousands of mana in one hit if that was the case

Darastrix

Both my predictions ended up true, the cliffhanger ended with a shit follow up and Velika wants Rain. Aaaaaaa when will the next chapter be, I need another hit.

Ziggy

You'd need to be more specific. Most litrpgs have the protagonist using the system in a "smart" way or they get lucky somehow. Or both. Delve's magic system seems much, much more thought out and coherent than the average litrpg.

Atlas Dwarf

Testing Rain's limits and getting those misfits to actually work together. I wonder if it was Lavarro, the Empire, or both. Thought she might go after Westbridge instead.

Daoist

I think that he could mostly avoid damaging himself if he used the cold aura instead of the fire. Though it'll be nice when he finally gets the force or shadow damage aura...

Ole Halvorsen

she seems to miss out on other powerful bonuses though + she probably only has 3 specializations. But yeah she can pretty much just go the passifist rute now and test out the build. The ability to bypass unimportant talents seems really powerful though not only do you save skillpoints but you can go whatever you want.

Mugatu9

I think Rain could put up a fight against Velika if he really wanted to. She's a warrior build, so what would happen if he used essence transfer to transfer all his mana to her in one go? She would be overmanaed into oblivion

Anonymous

The pacing is brilliant. Thank you.

ZaA

Yeah.. Rain NEEDS to get an aura that wont hurt himself.. great pace right now though. Keep up the hard work (:

spoilers: if I remember correctly a watch sentinel is a silver plate. so who the hell can one-shot the poor guy at the end of the chapter except for a gold plate. but they were meant to be rare to the point of near non-existence in the area so firstly why would one be here and secondly why would they cause even more problems by attacking the already angry watch? I will hold my opinion until we have answers but it's not making a lot of sense at the moment.

tibbish

Lavarro could and might do it. And has reason to be there. Same thing with Empire goons.

payforthat

I suspect that this sort of stuff will not work at high levels. We have seen that having a "strong soul" can give capabilities in itself. The truth reading the Watch does for one. I think that buff class spells wont be built to force itself upon someone, so Velika and such people would little issue blocking it. This might be why Rain is not getting affected by the plague rats, his strong soul is blocking it without more direct contact from them.

carebear90

There we go... I expected it, when I read the chapter title. Velika wants him to be her pet beacon... It's interesting, that she took it in stride, when he called her just Velika several times instead of Citizen. I mean, yeah, she riled him up on purpose, but it is still interesting, that she didn't mind at all. That and how she admitted to herself his usefulness besides lack of fighting prowess... was kinda cute. ^^ I liked this chapter a lot.

payforthat

We have seen quite a few examples of hit points and defenses working in last few chapters. Is it just me, or does it look like "system" damage works on a different level to pure physics damage? It's almost as if the non-system enhanced stuff has reduced effect on the monsters. Kettles staff hitting the trundler rat last chapter is a good example. This could be explained by the system damage been able to attack system resources (hit points) directly. Where as physics damage cant do that. So needs to be getting up to the point of doing physical damage levels before hit points start responding. Both are linked, but it does mean that higher level defenses will become harder and harder to beat with normal force or heat.

Jeff091

hi, thanks for the new chapter i just took a look at ch.84 and did the calculations for maxeffect winter when he is lvl 25 and has maxed his skills to lvl15, it adds 131 250 % to the mana regeneration

Anonymous

Well if you where to hit a bear with a wooden stick how likey would you say you where to kill it vs just making it angry. The author ha s hinted that stuff that can be made via system abilities can be made the old fashion way (potions for example) so there should not be a difference between system dmg and normal dmg. The system should be just that some system ment to help humans interact with the world and it s more abstract principles

Anonymous

I think people are underestimating Rain's mana regen's growth curve and the future ability to use multiple auras at once. I think that doing something like having Immolate at max power/range, then a thin but firm layer of Refrigerate covering his body, plus the fire protection ward, is a simple enough combo that he should be able to accomplish somewhere around lvl 30 and that would make him a God of Fire and Death versus a large group of enemies. Then, if he's targeting a single powerful enemy, just flip Immolate and Refrigerate to slow them down and then finish them off with something like a physical damage ward or a mental damage ward. Hell, if there is some sort of time field ward he could combine that with Velocity and become the Flash within the range of the time field, but that's pure speculation though. What I'm trying to get at is that his power vs lvl curve should look something like a 5th degree polynomial.

Klever Kilvanya

Do we ever get an idea of other awakened hp pools so we can compare Rain's DPS to the average tankyness of the regular awakened? Since the fuckoff high tier people keep shitting on him but we see him with 600-800 DPS a second and Rain only has 900 hp at most, so does everyone else wander about with 10-20k hp and are all 1 hit K/O specialists?

BladeTytan

Without any outside bonuses or skills, it requires lvl 100 to reach 10k hp, so that is likely Gold Rank, maybe high Silver, levels of health, once we do include them. lvl 50+ = Gold. 25-50 = Silver.

Adrian Gorgey

I think something we haven't heard enough about in Rain's internal monologue is how much he NEEDS to get heat Ward and cold ward to reach his full potential. After prismatic intent, of course

Adrian Gorgey

Until he has those, his ability to use environmental auras will always be limited by his and his party's resistances. Once he has those, he can crank it up without hurting them.

Silver Beard

The real story-line is all the lives around the MC; but we only get glimpses of them through his eyes...so it’s all real disjointed. That and you’ve made the MC a pacifist more interested in his numbers than his freedom. So how did you plan on getting him out of this mess? Ofc- you won’t... he’ll end up Citizen Bitch...and we can look forward to his numbers calculating his ultimate demise? Prove me wrong or lose my support. This is not working out to be a story I want to read (or support)

CentaureHeart

Still don't like Velika at all, so much pride for someone who was given everything... Rain probably need to experiment with his offensive auras a bit more Thanks for the chapter !

ManKyYen

I think the biggest thing hurting Rain in fights right now is his lack of knowledge concerning his damage auras. As it stands right now he has no idea what the most powerful Frost Nova is, that he can do without hurting himself. A reasonably powerful Frost Nova, compressed down to 3 or 4 meter range, would have probably been the most mana efficient way to deal with that mushroom thing. A compressed nova like that could probably be cranked up pretty high since Rain can just leave the zone of cold air left behind by it in seconds, before the low temperature can really damage him.

Ziggy

Did you have a stroke? Do you really think Rain is going to be V's beacon? First we have her own perspective wondering how she could make it happen instead of it being, "I'ma force this bitch" in a way that implies she would have troubles. Then there's the fact it's pretty obvious someone (most likely the empire) is about to attack the town and she has way more to worry about than this. And come on. Threatening to be proven wrong like it's an ultimatum of either "fix this or lose my money"? For like $2 a month? Are you 12 or a Karen?

Ziggy

#BugReport . Kind of. "In essence, he’d tried to stop the monster’s massive arm completely. Since it hit like a truck, that was not ideal. Stopping a truck was hard." This and the passage about it eventually gets the point across. But this analogy is.. a little confusing? It seems like Rain was trying to stop the momentum of the arm entirely, or the effect of all that momentum on Breggeh's body entirely, or force ward was trying to do both and stop Breggeh's body from moving afterwards as well. Obviously Rain is just spit balling and doesn't entirely know, but the truck bit phrased as is had me confused at first. Alternative suggestions: In essence, he’d tried to stop the movement of the monster's massive arm from affecting Breggeh in any way, instead of just stopping physical damage to her. Since it hit like a truck, that was not ideal. Stopping a truck was hard. In essence, he’d tried to totally stop the momentum of the monster's entire, massive arm when it hit Breggeh instead of just protecting her from the damage it would inflict. Since it hit like a truck, that was not ideal. Stopping a truck was hard. Or similar. Just examples to get my point across. Could also compare it in a different way while using the truck analogy. Like saying 100% is like stopping a truck while 50% is like cushioning the person's body from damage from said truck.

I'd spend 30 months in the gulag for one more chapter

Ole Halvorsen

I don't think it really is that confusing, at least to me I understood immediately what he meant. I mean I can see that it can be confusing to people not knowing physics so well. I mean it would be better to say that when he used force ward at 100% he also makes the target an immovable object, meaning the force ward has to absorb all the momentum. like a truck running straight into a cliff wall. I think that is easier to comprehend for most people.

ricky jackson

Any clue how much that is per unit of time, also with additional clarity added for level 25?

carebear90

Is it possible at all, that the Blue in this lair is unexpectedly high level and that's the reason, that whoever snuck in, hasn't killed it yet? Was there a limit mentioned anywhere, how high a level a monster can go above the level of the lair it is in?

Robin

Whoever? We know it's likely Val, right? And if so he is level 5 fighting/searching for a blue of that is likely to be at or below level 10. (Remember, rain was disappointed when he learned the average blue in this lair was said to be below level 10)

Atlanta Geek

Where is the description of what a beacon is and the different types of beacons. I know its an aura specialist but would like more details.

wanderer117

A torch is a basic beacon, usually capped at 4 with the four seasonal auras.

Anonymous

Thanks for the chapter! Now I'm just wondering, how does Aura Synergy interact with Uncertain Savior? Like does it get the benefit from the inactive skills? That'd be crazy, wouldn't even need Aura Focus then!

Ziggy

It's possible Ameliah got aura synergy at one point and leveled it, but we have no idea. I would assume it only works for current skills. Otherwise Ameliah's build has gone from awesome to "AHHHH!" If it skills like aura synergy work with skills that have been refunded via Ameliah's class, that means every single meta skill like that would do the same. Ameliah could learn every single aura and forget them and have aura synergy at like 300%, and I'm sure there are meta skills that do the same for other trees. That's just a bit too much. Having the ability to learn and level every single skill, unlock (almost) every hidden skill and tree, and totally switch your build around with a little effort? That's already bananas enough on its own.

L Pedersen

Feeeeeeeed us!

Atlanta Geek

So since Rain has maxed out his level he isnt going to get any more new skills right. He's just got the 2 or 3 skills left that he can level up and then hes maxed out?

payforthat

Aura Compression is still at Level 6, Mana Manipulation is still at level 7 and yup no more skills till next blue. However, most of his current growth will be from gaining full use of the ring. As of last check he only had a total stat boost tolerance of 132 out of a potential 180. Individual stat tolerances range from 2 to 61. Not mention lot of potential growth to his physical sync, currently ranging from 24%-41%. This will help him with dps. As 5 seconds at 600dps in this chapter did not insignificant damage to him. Improving his tolerance+sync on Endurance may have big gains here. As currently its his worst stat. It is only listed at an effective 3.6, so yer.. In theory with maxed skills and dropping all 180 stats into focus he can hit 9800dps at 10m range for 5.6 seconds. (resistance potion/item required) Even with only a 100 in focus and rest in Strength/Endurance he could hit 7600dps at 10m for 3.88 seconds.

Garbled Sounds

"It let her refund a skill point, freeing it up to put in something else. She’d lose the ability to use the skill, of course, but whatever ranks she had earned would stick around. They’d count for anything that needed them as a prerequisite, and the skill wouldn’t revert to rank one if she later put the point back in" Woah! That's broken.

OpN

I really enjoyed this, but like Ole said, I can see the Val - Rain dynamic proving to be an issue that could be potentially abused against the MC. It's been shown that the characters of the world see him as too nice and selfless, where as Vetika sees a low level utility pet to bring along. These upcoming chapters will determine Vetika's mental health, her willingness to compromise, and Rain's level of self sacrifice. It will also see a shift towards a potentially darker theme, as up till now there has been very little human death around Rain, and he hasn't faced any major moral setbacks. His opinion on killing others or being killed is naive, and we'll get to see what happens here with an unstoppable force like Vetika calling his shots.

these down loads don't seem to work for me.
