SWAT Kats was actually a real show! It was just a little before my time, so I haven't seen much, but what I have seen is pretty neat if you're into early-to-mid-'90s action cartoons. Actually, I think SWAT Kats was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, which means Cartoon Network probably owns them and what little I saw might've been on Boomerang. I wouldn't know if they're still rerunning them, though...

I've played very little D&D but plenty of homebrews, and our group operates under one basic rule: "You can attempt to do anything you want." Well, that and "right is always right" which probably makes dungeon mapping somewhat easier. We did have one bad railroading incident though, which can be summarised as: Ten thousand paladins with heat-seeking lasers teleport to your location and vaporise the party. Once we'd made our new characters, we immediately had them fight each other and completely ignored his plot threads. Half of us had to make a second new character that session. We spent the rest of that campaign deliberately messing with the GM. Had him sat in the corner of the room crying at one point 😇

I just can't imaging the logic for TPKing a party for no reason, sounds terrible.
