Romanticism was a movement in art, music, and... well, pretty much everything, but it was also kind of an era. The Romantics flourished in roughly the first half of the 1800s. In terms of paintings specifically, the French Romantics in particular were fond of the "style Troubadour", involving bright and detailed depictions of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Apparently Empress Josephine Bonaparte, Napoleon's wife, was a fan. Those French Romantic paintings could be the ones Darryl was copying, though you'd think Sharon, an artist, would be able to recognize at least some of them. Maybe she never got much strictly academic art training... or she just wasn't paying much attention. ... And where is GigPig sending Sharon in the middle of the night with a cowboy hat and a Louisville Slugger?
