Chirography is the study of handwriting and penmanship. Stealing or destroying King Herz' journal might not destroy Corona in and of itself, sure, but seeing how big the Day of Hearts is to the people of Corona, with the story of King Herz and General Champanier having deep emotional as well as historical significance to many people, I can imagine the disappearance or destruction of the journal would be devastating to the people at large. It could be a fairly big early propaganda victory for the Separatists, with Herz and Champanier's love, manifested in the journal, serving as a tangible symbol of Coronan-Saporian unity. Hypothetically, such a victory could be used to encourage the apparently until-now fairly quiet and underground Separatist cells to wake up. Stop just being a chain of secret clubs where cantankerous old farts go to complain about the Coronan government and start being a serious political movement again, and potentially even an outright rebellion. And then there's also, you know, the map of the country's extensive underground tunnel network...
