I really get the sense that the show's creators don't quite get what a Lady-in-Waiting is actually supposed to DO. Cassandra's on-paper job SHOULD be to basically act as Rapunzel's personal assistant; reading and writing letters, setting appointments, giving advice, maybe on occasion a very, VERY light task that could generously be called a "chore"; with her less official but more important function being as a genuine friend and companion to Rapunzel; chatting, reading for fun, painting, embroidery, card games, charades, basically anything that Rapunzel finds fun at the moment. Most importantly, a Lady-in-Waiting is a capital-L LADY, not a servant, usually just a rank or two beneath the Lady she's waiting on, yet Cassandra seems to get stuck doing laundry, cleaning, and putting up decorations pretty frequently, considering the Royal Household surely MUST have departments FULL of actual maids and footmen to do these instead.

Tbh I hadn't even considered the implications of her title. Now it's got me thinking that just wanted her to be a Lady in Waiting to better sell her season 2 conflict.
