hurray, so this is a big one. figured out how to keep the thickness on the edges of a garment. the easiest way to get some thickness is by folding the edge of a garment underneath itself, its what we do with real life garments as well. but the problem is, the way polygons work, there are no polygons to attach the end of folded cloth to. so what will happen when we apply dforce on garment is, that the folded parts will creep out underneath the front of the garment, and we end up with paper thin edge again, and it becomes all messy. (see all left sides of the pictures)

so this where the dforce add-on comes into play. as i understand it, and as usually documentation is non existent, so its a lot of guessing and experimenting, what it does is keep vertices in place by using an external mesh. that external mesh is still able to have physics applied to it, so it still behaves like cloth, but it also keeps that folded part in place, and thats exactly what we want.
