Early Access. Public release currently set for April 15.

* I strongly recommend to BACKUP YOUR SAVES before installing.
Milestones are new, and milestone mods even newer.
Although we have been investigating them for over a week, and testing this particular mod for several days, I like to play it safe, and that is why I suggest that you backup your saves just in case there’s still something strange about custom milestones that no modder has discovered yet.

* as always with new mods: please report any issues so I can fix it!! :)

March 28: Added cheat to Add milestones. NO removal possible atm.

________________

It's a new mod.
As always with new mods, expect quick updates once issues arise and I fix them.

All the testing we can do in small group never manages to catch all the things larger-group playing catches.

IF THAT ANNOYS YOU, please wait a few days before downloading, I understand.

- This mod adds over 50 custom milestones to the game. Some of them are able to be retroactive.

- It also further develops game behavior on some EA milestone: it adds the place of birth to the ‘born’ milestone, separates ‘ended a relationship’ into two milestones: EA’s for break-ups and a custom one for divorces, and it adds world and lot of marriage to the ‘married’ milestone.

- It also adds moodlets that differ depending on if it’s the first time something happens are a recurrent time.

- It also adds social bunny posts for many of these milestones.

- It also adds in your Sim’s profiles some statuses to show the sim who is the first one the ever kissed or woohoo’d with, as well as to show who is the firstborn. These statuses are obviously not retroactive because they are custom from the mod.

FULL DESCRIPTION / MILESTONE LIST HERE

-1.- A "TRANSITION PERIOD" --

I have been told that there are some EA game bugs right now that would cause milestones to disappear from families (by design, only played households have them, BUT the bug makes them vanish from played families too).
In addition, I have been asked by some who used memory panel in the past whether they would still have access to that panel upon installing this.

These two factors have led me to set up for this mod a “transition period”.

This means that at the moment, the old memory panel systems are still mostly running INVISIBLY alongside the new milestone-adapted systems.
You will not notice it in any way in game - but will therefore still be able to open my old panel, hidden away under the “Actions” menu.

Once everyone has transitioned and the EA bug with vanishing milestones is fixed, I will finish to fully transition this mod and remove the leftover memory panel stuff from your Sims, to lighten up the amount of data that is sitting on them.

-2.- Growing Together or Not? --

PLEASE NOTE: “Memory panel” remains as a mod, for those who don’t own “Growing Together”. "Milestones Expanded" is its equivalent for people who DO have "Growing Together".

-3.- IF YOU PLAYED THE BETA OF THIS MOD --

If you played the beta version of this mod, and if you come accross any issues transitioning to the release version, what you would then need to do is mark the households that you played during the beta version as “unplayed” via “manage world” screen to reset their milestones.

The two core files are required.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_BaseMilestones: most of the milestones are contained in this file. But it's still optional.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_Moodlets&BunnyForEAsMilestones: this contains the moodlets and social bunny triggers that apply to EA’s milestones. If you don’t like those, feel free to remove this file.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_Kiss&WooHooSbNew: this file contains the “Kissed someone new” and “Woohoo’d someone new” milestones. If you don’t like these because your Sim is getting too many of them (what a serial romantic!), then feel free to remove this file.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_CityLiving: this contains the milestones that relate to and require “City Living”. DELETE THIS FILE IF YOU DON’T HAVE THAT PACK.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_GetFamous: this contains the milestones that relate to and require “Get Famous”. DELETE THIS FILE IF YOU DON’T HAVE THAT PACK.

Lumpinou_MilestonesExpanded_IslandLiving: this contains the milestones that relate to and require “Island Living”. DELETE THIS FILE IF YOU DON’T HAVE THAT PACK.

More parts will become optional later.

* REQUIRES THE GROWING TOGETHER PACK.

If you don't have it, use my 'Memory Panel' mod instead.

* INCOMPATIBLE WITH MEMORY PANEL. This is a re-mash of it but for EA's 'memory' system

As always, thanks to Frankk and Lot51 for their tools and help.
Thanks to Waffle for coordinating us modders to avoid duplicate milestones across mods.

DOWNLOAD:

- remove everything from previous versions if any. DELETE "Memory Panel" if you have it.

- grab the file from this post, extract them

- DELETE FILES THAT RELATE TO PACKS YOU DON'T OWN. Feel free to also delete optional parts that you don't want.

- Put the rest directly into your mods folder or one subfolder.

love the idea of this mod and how quickly you released it, so have just become a patreon!! i feel like you have the perfect taste of what will add so much to sims games :) looking forward to more!

Anonymous

I was genuinely so disappointed at how bare bones EA's milestones were after toddlerhood, so this mod is going to be an absolute godsend. Looking forward to future developments!

Vwduiven

Love this mod but my sim lost their spouse and no Milestone was added. Only the one from ea that said she is a widow now. Is it cause of Mortem you think?.

Kristel

Thank you so much!! So grateful for this mod!!

lumpinou

If married, they get the 'widow' one from EA. So all is normal! When losing a bf / gf, EA adds nothing, which is why I add 'lost a so' in that case

Vwduiven

Gosh i feel so stupid thank you so much again for the fast response. And you are amazing!;)

JenJenLn

Thank you so so much for making this boring game more fun to play.

Anonymous

Just subbed for this :D I love your mods so much! They've become absolutely necessary to my game.

Anonymous

I was just wondering if a teen has a baby, will that show as a milestone?

lumpinou

Not right this minute as that milestone isn't ready yet (that info is listed on the description page)

Anonymous

Oh, my bad, I skimmed through it and must have missed it. Thanks for replying anyway! ❤️

Anonymous

Thanks so much for sharing, your mods add so much to my game! Apologies if you have answered this elsewhere, but if we're switching from the memory panel mod, do we need to cheat add previous memories as milestones or do they automatically port across?

lumpinou

Hi, What was in your sim's memory panel can partially transfer but for the most part it won't unfortunately

Vwduiven

My save will not load anymore and is broken. The reason is milestone development that is what the exception said. And i did not back them up. That was a really stupid mistake of mine...😭

lumpinou

Hi, nobody has been having any problems, so, I highly suggest sharing the error report on my discord so we can look at it and tell you what is going on and what to do about it :)

Anonymous

Does this mod add retroactive and current milestones to every sim in the save, or just the current sim you're playing?

lumpinou

Milestones work only on played households, so, once you play a households, they can get milestones

Anonymous

Gotcha. When I put the mod in, I got quite a bit of lag on my couple (the only sims I've played in this save), so I wondered if it was trying to run it on everyone. It's Dizzy Isy's save, which is huge and packed with sims in a gazillion clubs, lol, so was just double-checking if that was it. The male in the couple is part of that save (in three clubs, already added skills, tons of relationships already, famous, Lvl 7 athlete, a sister)...could that have caused the lag, trying to get all those milestones added? The female was a brand new sim to the save, so she didn't get any retroactive ones. I think, lol.

lumpinou

Thanks for the details! If anything is related to a first launch, it should happen only in first launch of the specific sim, so that's a good way to check that, but yes this mod does a variety of checks on a sim's first loading so that can happen in that context only. This mod doesn't cause any lag proper, so, if you are experiencing such issues after having played the Sims for a bit, I would wonder next if the mod is simply catching a lot of errors with missing traits, for example if the save came from a game that had a lot of mods that you don't have -. Keep me updated! :)

I just wanted to say that I've never subbed to a modder's patreon before and I considered waiting until this became public, but I am in awe of the continued hard work you do and how hard you've worked during this game-breaking patch. Thank you for making the game so much more interesting and I really appreciate everything you've done, not just now but for the past few years. I can't wait to use this mod!

Anonymous

I tried letting the Milestones mod run for a bit, saving, exiting, then restarting but nope, the lag didn't go away. I think you're right, about the save using mods that I don't have. Dizzy recommends Zer0's Assign NPC Jobs and No Random Townies to keep the sims they made in their NPC jobs, but I didn't really care if sims got switched around, so I didn't add them. When I started RatBoy's save with my own sim - no lag. It doesn't happen in regular ole Sims saves either. So that may be it? Just some info for you, in case you need it. There was something going wrong with Fame in Dizzy's save too, where the male sim Dizzy had already made famous couldn't gain fame to save his life, whereas my sim who stepped into the spotlight via in-game play could. Well, actually, there's something wrong with fame anyway after this last update. With the global option to keep sims out of the spotlight turned on, played sims are gaining fame. They're individually marked as Staying Out of the Spotlight, but they're gaining Fame and Fame Points anyway. I have to make them step in, then step out of the spotlight to get rid of their newfound they-did-nothing-to-gain-it-fame, lol. This was on two different saves this has happened - my regular Sims default post-modpocalyse-no-mod save, and now RatBoy's save with updated mods. But in Dizzy's save, there seemed to be an opposite effect, where he couldn't gain any. Maybe this bug was messing with whatever Dizzy did to make their sims famous on the fly, and that was causing errors in the background? Or maybe it's just the bug is switching In The Spotlight and Out of the Spotlight sims and that's messing with everything :D Anyways, just giving info, in case it helps. My main point though is THANK YOU.

lumpinou

Thanks for the extra info! Would seem related to that save then uh. When downloading pre-made saves, a lot of strange stuff like that can end up happening unfortunately :/

Thank you for the additional milestones! I like the added realism they bring to the game. I ran into an issue today with the Lost a Child and Lost a Sibling milestones. My teen Sim died from Mortification and was successfully revived when her father pleaded with Grim Reaper. Her father and brother were the only witnesses. Now the teen Sim who was revived has milestones Lost a Child and Lost a Sibling, but neither applies to her. She didn't lose a child, her dad lost a child. She didn't lose a sibling, her brother did. Both the father and brother have the appropriate milestones for this situation, but the Sim who died and was revived shouldn't have them. She does have the Saved from Death milestone, as expected. The tooltip on the incorrect milestones says X's life was permanently altered by the death of Y, but in this case X is the Sim who died/was revived, and Y is the Sim who witnessed it, so the message doesn't make sense.

lumpinou

That is truly quite strange! I can't really explain it this minute either; considering the setup, that should be thoroughly impossible 🤯 What I recommend is using Milestone Cheats to remove the wrong things Thanks for reporting! :)

Jordacious

Hai Hai just to get clarification we can use both your milestone mod and Waffle's correct?

Anonymous

Geez idk how is possible you added so many lines so fast omg. I only translated like 1k strings in 2 days and a half hahaha you are awesome 💖

Hey Lumpinou! I love this mod, but I keep getting an LE thrown at me: My Script Mods\Milestone_Expansion\Scripts\Lumpinou_LifeMilsetones_Injections.py Any idea what I did wrong?

lumpinou

Hi, this mod has no errors but can catch errors due to outdated trait mods or not properly installed trait mods, which is certainly what you have

Anonymous

Ok, I've updated some trait mods and will test this later. Thank you for the explanation!

meglil

I can’t remember if it was this mod, but there used to be a feature that said “born in ____” ie copperdale? Was it removed? Apologies if this isn’t even part of any of your mods 🙃

lumpinou

Hi, no it's not removed, check the description of 'born in' milestones and you should see the location

Anonymous

Would you please add the Scubadive for Treasure/Seashells, Spearfish, Take Underwater Photo and Freedive options to achieve your Scubadiving milestone? :)
