The last couple of scenes of this one make it tied for my favorite Toy Story movie...though, the gap between all 4 really isn't that wide. Many said that this one should have ended the trilogy but I'm one of the (fewer? idk) number who really appreciated 4 for reasons I'll go into if you watch it! But back to this one: That scene in the incinerator?! OMG! I brought my youngest sibling (she was 13 at the time) to see this in theaters because she was born a year after the first one came out so...Toy Story was a HUGE part of her childhood. Anyway...we sobbed like two crazy people. When they started to hold hands and ...omg...I can't. Hm...I notice you specifically mention that you've seen Shrek...but I didn't hear you say that you've seen any of the sequels? Shrek 2 (not so much 3...but 4 is good) is imho one of the best sequels ever made. ;)

SRR8

I saw Shrek 1 a few years back and remember loving it but I didn't watch a lot of films back because I was more into reading so I left it at that. It could do with a revisit though

You also gotta remember this was supposed to be the end. So seeing the scene where everyone almost gets burnt to a crisp hit hard in theaters. There was a big part of everyone who felt like maybe they do end it there

Also if you wouldn’t have gotten emotional seeing Andy not only give away his toys with his heartfelt goodbye but also play with them one last time… I would have felt you had no soul lol
