This show got me through the pandemic, (this one and Ted Lasso, really) and it was because, even though the world he's in isn't like mine at all...it has the same heart, if that makes sense? Without any context to relate my personal reality to theirs, I can focus on the emotions and how they feel with such intensity...but they share it! They don't feel ashamed to feel, and that just is such a freeing concept. Steven's guilt over things he didn't do, Lars' fear that he lets control him, Sadie's low self esteem that she lets control her!...it's just such a good show.
