Hey all, excited to announce the release of the Alternate Barbarian: Expanded! This is the companion document to my Alternate Barbarian Class and included a number of goodies!

Additional Exploits. Twenty new Exploits! Including some interesting options for Barbarians to contribute out of combat like cunning instincts, survey wilderness, and subjugate beast!

Barbaric Feats. A few little goodies here to improve your barbarian.

Additional Primal Paths. Some new and some old, all converted to work with the Alternate Barbarian - notably, Path of the Favored chosen by my Patrons!

Patreon Exclusive Primal Path. Never before seen, the Path of Beauty was the runner-up in the Patreon subclass poll and I caved and created it!

As always, let me know what you think!

Alternate Barbarian: Expanded by laserllama

In 5e, the barbarian, while mechanically balanced, can lack interesting decisions in combat. For some, this is okay, but for players that would enjoy a more tactical experience, the Alternate Barbarian strives to capture the fantasy of playing a barbarian without reducing it to simplistic features.

Is the Vorpal Critical of the Barbarian meant to be that weak compared to the Fighter's Vorpal Strike? Not only does it require a crit, it doesn't add three rolls of the exploit die to the threshold needed to cut a head off. Also, quick question: Do you need a slashing weapon for either class' Vorpal exploits? They both specify that creatures immune to slashing won't lose a head, but the exploits do not mention requiring a slashing weapon.

When you throw an object at someone with Hurl, both the object and the target take damage. But when you throw a creature at another creature with Greater Hurl, it looks like only the target takes damage (the creature being thrown does not). That seems kind of strange. Is this deliberate?
