Hello Everyone! I've just finished a full update of both the Alternate Ranger and the Alternate Ranger: Expanded (PDFs below). Not a ton of mechanical changes here, more so formatting, art updates, and clarity changes to make them look more "professional". I'd love to get your feedback, particularly on the Bounty Hunter, Grim Warden, Nomad, Stargazer, and Wrangler Archetypes!

Alternate Ranger v3.7.0

  • Fighting Style // Reworked these to match the Alternate Fighter. New Fighting Styles include Dual Wielding, Featherweight Fighting, Marine Fighting, Melee Marksman, and Strongbow. Non-SRD Fighting Styles are no longer included (but still work).
  • Favored Foe // Damage now scales by 1d6 per spell slot level.
  • Favored Foe // Duration increases at 6th, 14th, and 18th levels.
  • Spell List // Removed *featherfall* and *tongues*
  • Beast Master // Primal Companion - The beast now takes its turn during your turn, and you can replace one of your attacks to command the beast to attack. Primal Companions reworked to use your spellcasting modifier for their attacks, etc.
  • Hunter // Multiattack - Added Rapid Strikes (similar to the Samurai Fighter).
  • Spellbreaker // Mage Breaker - Reworked to improve your favored foe mark.
  • Shadowbane // NEW. A reworked version of the Monster Hunter.
  • Wrangler // Moved to Alt Ranger Expanded
  • Survivalist Knacks // Explorer I // Now provides advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to navigate the wilderness, gather food/water, and identify flora/fauna.
  • Survivalist Knacks // Wild Insights III // New Knack
  • Alternate Archetypes // Moved to base Alt Ranger from Expanded doc. Added Drakewarden.

Alternate Ranger: Expanded v3.7.0

  • Knacks // Arctic Adept // Grants resistance to cold damage.
  • Knacks // Desert Adept // Grants resistance to fire damage.
  • Knacks // Jungle Adept // NEW Knack!
  • Knacks // Woodsman II // You have advantage on damage rolls vs plants.
  • Bounty Hunter // Maneuvers changed to Exploits from the Alternate Fighter
  • Drakebound // Removed with the release of *FToD*
  • Grim Warden // Crimson Brand // Scaling reduced to 1d8 per Hit Die.
  • Wrangler // Monster Tamer // Removed Animal Handling Expertise (you can get that from the base class with Wilderness Expertise). Added adv on Athletics checks.
  • Wrangler // Improved Monster Tamer // Calls out specific creatures types.

As the graying man made his way through the underbrush of the forest his faded green cloak made him nearly invisible. The exceptionally large troll he had been stalking through the night had finally stopped to rest. As the great brute laid down to sleep, a silent green shape emerged from the trees to snuff out the life of the hideous monster.

I've noticed one thing while reading the Expanded document: in Improved Exploits, it says "At 15th level, these skills increase further. You gain another Exploit Die (for a total of five)". The Bounty Hunter Ranger starts with 2 Exploit Dice. At 7th level, they gain another die, for a total of 3. If they get at 15th level just one extra die, they would have 4 Exploit Dice, not 5.
