Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 20 of Vinland Saga!  Oh wow, that scene with the king was INTENNNSSEEE!!!!  Really getting some Game of Thrones vibes off this show now haha.  Thank God that Askeladd is a fast talker (and a good one at that)!  Now we know the king definitely wants Canute out of the way, but sees fit to join forces with him for now.
Canute just seems to have zero fear now, not even backing down when threatened, and determined to show his dad how to use that crown that's been running his life.  Also, Rangar's brother!!!  Still not quite sure what to make of him.  Oh yeah, and Askeladd being amazingly decent again out of nowhere, and telling the brothers to take his gold and go live their best lives after they betrayed him.  He never ceases to amaze me!  Can't wait to see what we're in for next!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Askeladd hates warriors and that whole culture. He knows it is a snake eating its own tail but he became just that. So it made perfect sense to me what he did with the brothers. He doesn't really want that for anyone who has a chance at something else. As for the politics of this episode, it's all about perception. Part of the trick with politics is making people believe in the carefully crafted image you made for yourself. Then again some politicians just show all their cards up front and bet on people appreciating the honesty. (as in, of course I will lie all the time, or be any number of things really but you already know that so support me because at least you can understand that)

I see what you mean! I had never thought of it that way. Ah yes, I think I see what you mean about politics too - it's either building up a phony image for the public, or being the one who's "real talking" about things but still pretty honest about the fact they're not on the up and up lol. Good points!

no no you counted right the ''eleventh'' step was just his leg which was behind reach the leg that was in forward.. :D so he can stand with both legs together.. hmm must say i like the prince changed even though he is not a fighter.. :D also dont want to say too much.. but from now on.. or maybe next one.. i dislike Thorfinn.. and Askeladd being my favorite character (already saw the whole season) :D his backstory is pretty good :)

Oh good, glad I wasn't wrong! Hmmm, I'll be curious to see what you mean about Thorfinn! Just a few eps left, can't wait to see how the season ends!!

Man, what became of Torgrim always breaks my heart. Poor guy's brain literally turned into a child's brain to cope with the trauma he felt from seeing Thorkell up close.
