Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 8 of Dr. Stone!!! Wow, we are wheeling and dealing here!!! I love how Senku recognizes that in order to do our science thing, we have to be able to get along with and motivate people too. Also, we're making ramen!!!!!!!!!!! Ramen will save the world, you heard it here first!!! Not to mention I just love the overall message that humanity can and will prevail no matter what. Can't wait for more! Enjoy! ~ MH

Okay so remember when I said I was going to suggest that some of the people in the OP might be the next generation? I was going to suggest that Chrome was Yuzuriha and Taiju's kid. xD I mean... it's not true, but I can certainly believe it. ...I didn't go that far though since I feel like even if it's fake spoilers... It wouldn't be believable if I just 'spoil' it(even if they were fake spoilers to throw you off). xD In another universe where Senku died, I bet Chrome would've been Yuzuriha and Taiju's kid who would've loved science like Senku. Sure he's not as smart and gifted, but there's a lot that he can learn, and he's definitely energetic and clever enough to take the lead as protagonist. ...But unfortunately for him, he's gotta be around Senku who's incredibly smart and knowledgeable and just makes him look like an idiot in direct comparison. xD But then again, Senku had Pre-Stone World Education, didn't he? Also Suika's cute. Kohaku's great, Ginro is a little shit(but in the best way possible), and Kinro... Well, we'll talk more about him later. Edit2: Alright, I was going to remove this opinion since I was waiting for the right episode(and thought this episode was a different one)... But the end of episode 7 is also a good time to bring it up. The reason why this series in particular is my favorite post apocolyptic series, is because it doesn't really get super caught up in showing up how humans can monsters(and scarier than the literal monsters in the story, if they have them)... But this show showcases just how damn great humanity can be. I mean we've accomplished some CRAZY science, people 1000 years ago would be blown away by what we've accomplished... Even if the world right now isn't in a good place. ; n; ...I'm looking forward to the next episode. After all, with the aroma of delicious Ramen in the air... Who knows if that might invite trouble. I mean... There ARE still Lions around... Not to mention we've never really seen who that criminal they're talking about is... ....Also, there WAS time devoted to making that one contraption that Senku and Kohaku used to get to the village out of the pulley system, but the anime cut that bit out for time. A shame, but it's not like we have a lack of project development to showcase. BTW, Ginro's VA does have one Tokusatsu credit to his name. He was the voice of Don Murasame from the Don Brothers(Super Sentai). You'd probably find him hilarious because he looks like he'd be such an edgy boy, but he's always like: "Yes, Mother."

On the subject of VAs, the only thing you’d know Suika’s VA from is Kobeni from Chainsaw Man, regarding posted reactions. As you can see from the start, Senku has the recipe all laid out in his head for the antibiotic - but just because you have the road map doesn’t make the travel any easier. (Class comparison: if you were forced to drive to Seattle tomorrow, you’d know how to get there - but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy trip!) Kohaku is the only one inside the village willing to help Chrome and Senku at first - and it seems she’s an outcast in her own village as the chief seems to have “disowned” her. Also, Ruri’s condition isn’t getting any better. The child wearing a watermelon head shows up and introduces herself as Suika. We don’t know why she’s wearing it, but she’s abuzz with interest when she isn’t asked immediately about it. And it turns out she’s able to make herself useful. Okay, I’m not going to lie, when I heard Momotaro mentioned my brain went to Den-O. But it sounds like the story they know is somewhat distorted? And apparently Ruri has told them lots of stories. All the more reason to save her. But it’s apparent that they won’t be able to do this on their own, so after some sleuthing by Suika disguised as a watermelon, she learns enough info that Senku can morph into an answer. While it doesn’t come out exactly as good as he hoped it would - then ramen they make is a delicacy to both Chrome and Kohaku - plenty of time to tweak the recipe later, right now there’s a village to manipulate using food. That’s using your noodle! 😈 😈 😈

Suika’s a sweet little girl and her and Senku’s dynamic and friendship is one of my favorite things; YOU’LL SEE ESPECIALLY IN THE FINAL SEASON

Wow! Might as well just stop after antibiotics! We just acquired ramen! What more could we need? Except of course the development of the instant ramen of course. 🍜 I’m loving the group dynamic so far. It’s really fun. I love Suika. She’s really sweet and stealthy. 🥷 She’s the Sherlock Holmes of this worlds generation 🕵️ I love her rapport with Senku. I love how he appreciates anything and welcomes anyone beneficial to his cause. It may sound superficial and inconsiderate saying it flat out like that but it means he sees straight past her own insecurities and sees value where others may not. He may not care but in the best way. It just means he’s coming from a more genuine place. Sometimes that’s all a person needs to know; for someone to believe in them. Certain dialogue goes over my head because I’m thinking about the science stuff. I didn’t think twice when they were mentioning those lore stories and the stories/lessons Ruri has taught them. I’m really curious about that. How exactly would she know all that? Very interesting stuff. Can’t wait for more. Great episode! Great reaction as always!

For real, that's a huge one! I mean we've got ramen now too, so like, what else is there haha. I love Suika so far too! Her and Senku are so fun! I can totally see how Senku is direct but also really sincere. Yeah that's the thing, like how does she know all that! And thank you so much!!!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

Good to know! That's true, Senku doesn't necessarily have all the answers. HAHAHA my mind went to Den-O too! LOL he was totally using his noodle this time around!!! The power of food- I've been saying it forever!!!

kamenriderhime

OMG that would have had me reeling so much haha!!! In some other universe, I could see that. Senku's bound to make anyone here look dumb just because of having been alive in the old world! OMG I love that you mentioned this, like as interesting as it is to see the "humans are the real monsters" when done right, there's something really awesome about showing how hopeful things can be too! I can imagine there was a lot of time put into the pulley system! Oh nice about the voice acting!!! Hahaha sounds like a fun character!

Right? I get that Post Apocolapse is a good time to pull out the trope because it's realistic, but it gets tiring if everyone does it. ToT To be honest, not really? xD But, this is one of the projects whose screentime I actually remember they cut out of the anime.... I feel like there might be more that might've been shortened or cut out, but it's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I read Dr Stone. xD I can see why they did, but still... Senku and Kohaku solo project together. o; ...Then again Senku's in a pretty deep relationship with science... v .v ....At least Chrome seems like a romantic.
