Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 1 of Dr. Stone!!! WOW YOU GUYS!!!! This was freaking amazing, I'm so hooked already!!! They got me good in no time with a ship, an interesting plot, and lots of questions about how in the heck we're gonna make things work in this new world. I'm really impressed by how fast I fell for the characters and I'm intrigued at the storytelling style and all the science info!!!! Can't wait for more! Enjoy! ~ MH

Welcome to the Stone World! It might lost everything we have, but having a life like that would be interesting! Although... I'm not really want to live like that. Seems to harsh and so hard to survive. But hey! What would you do if you are the first to awaken an able to invent the revive potion? If for me, I would try to find a surviving cute girl statue and start with her first. Well, humanity can't survive unless both gender present. After that, I would start thinking for who would be best fit for each role. I might not be a leader kind, but if I can invent the revive potion, I'm sure that I can become something, I can support the community by brewing the potions. That's thing for sure, unless brewing it was so hard. Oh! I forgot that they put an opening in the end of the first episode! This one is my favorite of all. And in the theme, Kohaku is in there! My best girl!

Basically the show is about the world turning to stone and after ten thousand years they start breaking free of the stones. Only to wake up in a world like the stone age as old society has crumbled. They will use science to slowly improve their lives and try to find the cause of the petrification. It's got a good plot and a lot of science facts that half the watchers don't understand. The key thing that got people into it was finding out the cause of people turning to stone. The answer will rock your world.

Hey Melissa, the day has finally come for you to start Dr. Stone and I'm so excited to start the journey with you all over again. Because it's been a while since I last watched Dr. Stone in its entirety. I've only seen the latest season recently. So I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of things from the first season. First of all, I'm super happy that you seem to like the first episode a lot and that you want to watch several episodes in a row. And I can tell you, the feeling that you want to watch more and more remains throughout the whole anime because it's just so well made. From the very first episode, I loved Senku, Taiju and the other characters because they all have such different personalities, but they harmonize well with each other. It's really good that you had no idea at all what to expect with Dr. Stone and I found your idea about what the main character could be like quite amusing because Senku is completely the opposite of what you expected. I have to agree that he comes across as very arrogant at times, but he's still not unlikeable. He's very funny, knows a lot of things, but he's not overpowered either, which makes him a very reliable character. Taichu, on the other hand, isn't really very clever, but what he doesn't have in his head, he makes up for with his muscles and is a great help to Senku. The ship we built with him and Yuzuriha is really cute, and their development will continue throughout the anime. The plot of Dr. Stone is very unique and interesting, because as a viewer you are thrown right into the action without even understanding what's going on. If you don't know anything about the anime, you're completely overwhelmed by all the things that happen right at the beginning. But you've captured them very well and also found out the details really quickly. For example, that only the birds were petrified and not other animal species. Of course, that raises questions about what the change is all about. But neither the viewer nor the main characters have any idea what's really behind it. When you consider that Senku has been counting the seconds for 3700 years, it's really quite remarkable. He must have been awake the whole time. Senku and Taiju are getting closer to the secret of how they can undo the petrification. They just have limited resources, which makes it difficult for them to awaken as many people as possible. But the goal of reawakening all of humanity is really remarkable on Senku's part. And it remains to be seen whether he can really achieve it. Because he probably wouldn't be able to do it all by himself without outside help. But that remains to be seen.

This is exhilarating. :P Let’s get the voice analysis done before talking: Senku: there’s not much to go on, but he is playing the role of Sakuya in Oshi No Ko (the actor who was kind of creepily hitting on every girl, including Ruby). Taiju: Benimaru from Slime Yuzuhara: Fern from Frieren So we start off with a whole slice of life setting in order to immediately turn everything on its head. Senku is indeed the principal character, but I can pretty much tell you he’s a very unique kind of protagonist. The things that drive him are extremely different from the rest of us. Though when he counted for 3,700 years, that should’ve been your first clue. 😂 The obvious question is, what exactly happened? Why did everything get petrified, what caused it, and how do we recover? I probably will have more after we get through the second episode, but this isn’t different from Haikyu in that we have two people with extremely different skill sets that really need each other. And as for the rest of the comment section, we all knew it was going to be ten billion percent easy to hook her, didn’t we? 👀

I freaking love it already! It’s so romantic and funny and smart. The characters are so lovable already. Senku definitely has that mad scientist thing going with an earnest quality to him. While Taiju has that kind-hearted positive energy like Einar. I’m really looking forward to this. Already in love with the series. Practically two minutes in and I was already in love. It was that instantaneous. 🫰 🕊️

Hey Leonie!! YAY!! This show is SO GOOD and I'm incredibly happy to be watching it!!! I def can't wait to see more and it was hard for me to stop at just 2! Hahah I'm glad you liked my first impressions of the character design for Senku :P I really love Taiju and Senku so far! Right, we're put into the middle of all the action and we have to figure it all out from there. It's really ambitious for Senku to want to do that! It's gonna take a while, I'm sure. Being awake the whole time is so terrifying to me!! I can't wait to see what happens next!!

So, do you get the wordplay jokes in the comments for the Dr. Stone announcement now? 🤣🤣 Ohhh seing Taiju "discover" the nitric acid for the first time reminded me of a certain later scene and when that scene happens I already KNOW that Melissa is going to be thinking about the same thing I do in that scene and will be distracted by it 😅🤣🤣 Can't wait! xD (It's a scene towards the end of season 2, when you reach it, you'll know that it's the one I meant xD) And yeeeey the (in this case outro, but normally) intro gave you your first glimpse of one of my favourite girls!! (my other two haven't even been introduced in the anime yet xD also this does not include female children, otherwise coosing between four would be hard 😅🤣) I mean the blonde girl in the blue dress btw 😁 If you remember seeing the pictures from my last convention, one day I went as Kyoka Jiro and the other as THIS girls sister 😅🤣🤣 I'm just soooo excited to watch you experience all this!! Now some non-spoiler fun facts about the characters we have already met ^^ I already mentioned that it's super funny how these two best friends in the English dub, get voiced by the same guys who voice the other best friends Mirio and Tamaki xD According to a Manga Extra, on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness (does exactly as advertised, it tells you how hard a material is xD) , Taiju's head is an eight. For reference, Lead is a 1.5, Plastic is between 2 and 2.5, Gold and Silver have 2.5, Iron is a 4, Glass a 5.5, Porcelain is a 7, most gemstones fall between 6 and 9, with Emerald at 7.5-8 and Topaz and cubic zirconia/fake diamonds at 8 (AKA JUST AS HARD AS TAIJU'S HEAD 🤣🤣) and Sapphire even gets a 9 and (obviously) a freaking Diamond is a 10. I'm copying my info from the Dr. Stone Fandom Wikia site, credit to them for my knowledge xD

Damn, accidentally hit enter without shift xD Whatever, I wanted to continue with fun facts about their names 😅🤣🤣 Taiju's name is composed of "tai" (大 big; large) and "ju" (樹 tree) to create Taiju (Big Tree), while Ōki is composed of "ō" (大 big; large) and "ki" (木 tree) to create Ōki (Big Tree). soooo, YES, this means that his name is literally "Big Tree, Big Tree." 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yuzuriha's name is composed of "yuzuriha" (杠 lever) and her surname Ogawa is composed of "o" (小 little; small) and "gawa" (川 stream; river) to create Ogawa (Small River). Also, Yuzuriha's English voice actress, Brittany Lauda, is married to Chrome's (don't worry, you'll meet him in due time xD) English voice actor, Matt Shipman (he also voices Inasa/Whirlwind guy from Shiketsu in MHA and some other smaller characters in it) The three characters share a motif in their names, which correlates to the theme of "land, sea, and sky". Yuzuriha's name contains "gawa" (川 stream; river) and Taiju's name contains "ju" (樹 tree) and "ki" (木 tree) I'll omit the meanings for Senku for know, they might show up later Also in the beginning (before everything happened) Senku was 15, Taiju 16 and Yuzuriha 15 Yes, biologically speaking Senku is now a year older and Taiju half a year older than they were, while Yuzuriha hasn't aged (there is a big difficult timeline regarding the different ages, but that's too mch for now xD) but luckily everything is still an age range where nothing is creepy ^^ I love this show SO much, I'm soooo tempted to just upgrade my payment, so I can watch the next episode reaction already, but I reaaaaaally shouldn't do it 😅😅😅🤣🤣

XD And that's so interesting about the mineral hardness scale, WOW! Awww I love that Taiju is literally a Big Big Tree!! Wow these VAs have so much in common! Sounds good about Senku! Lol that's good that the aging didn't happen so rapidly that erm....it would make things creepy!
