Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to ep 5 of Kamen Rider Gavv!!! WHOA you guys, not only do we get to meet Shouma's uncle, see flashbacks of his life with his dad, etc. - but we get a REALLY fire new upgrade, pun intended!!! The situation with his family growing up looks like it was horribly bleak, despite the upbeat tone of this series, dang. And the uncle seems...not that bad so far, yet his actions tell me he must be bad??? I'm not sure!! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Fans start to wonder does Shouma born with consent? Was Shouma's dad been kind to them? Was Shouma's dad really care for their happiness? What did he do to prevent them from getting turned into spices? Well, he might not be a good dad, but I don't see him as a tyranny dad. Therefore, a potential of him actually be a good person. And now we have... the Flame Breathing Kamen Rider!!

Speaking of, u might wanna get next weeks snack ready. It's gonna be a sweet chocolatey episode next week. Fun detail: if u rewatch the fight with his flaming chip swords, you'll see that they turn to ash/char if he uses the flames for too long, and some people actually use potato chips as a substitute for lighter fluid in barbeques or even survival gear. Also the same thing happens with the other forms that Shoma's gotten as it can also depend on other flavors. Shoma currently has 3 Gummy gochizos, Grape Gummy for the base form, Orange Gummy for the giant rider kick boot, and Blue Soda for his gigantic rider punch glove. Fuwamallow also has 2 gochizos even though they came from the same flavor, thought it might also be because of texture or density of the snacks. Fuwamallow is the default while Marumallow gives him extra mallow muscles. So they don't change forms, they simply give weapons or enhancements to all there existing forms. So if Shoma were to get like a cookie form, he'd have either chocolate chip shields or an oreo shield (that's what I would imagine anyway if he ever had a cookie form)

O: Looks like I was right, the Stomack family COULD produce their own versions of Gochizo... Though it took me around episode 4 to start seriously guessing that the Agents were the Evil-Gochizo counterparts. ...I should have realized sooner when I saw that the Gochizos and Agents were voiced by the same actors... And here I thought they were just preforming double duty with no real meaning to the roles, like how some of the voice actors for the Chemies did. xD However I do have one more predication for these Agents. From the performance we saw today, I don't think the Agents are base-lined as skilled/strong as the agents from the last episode. I think it's when the twins' Agents work together that elevate their skill level to the heights we saw last time. I mean we had two blue agents working together, but they didn't seem as well coordinated despite coming out of the same creator. Of course I wouldn't be shocked if the current head of the Stomack family's Agents were on another level compared to the other's Agents. ...As for Shouma's dad... Well... He doesn't really *seem* like a wolf? Granted I've seen that one girl who killed Shouma's mom have human hands in her 'monster' form... So maybe there's a weird in between form? ...Though from his treatment of his family, I think another prediction I had is going down in flames. xD Because if one of the parents was used to modify Shouma's Gavv, I would've thought that his father would give up his own body... Put it in a weird Steven-Universe like situation... But each time a Gochizo appears, it's his father basically thanking him for letting him experience the treats he once shared with Shouma's Mom. ...But again, considering the treatment of his family and the fact the Grand Uncle was like: "Oh... I thought I failed, but I guess you needed Earth Snacks?" make that highly unlikely. ...Still... I don't think Shouma's mom was actually kidnapped against her will. Because if she had, then what's Shouma's dad plan? What's the point of going through all this? What did Shouma's dad even stand to gain from a Human/Monster Hybrid? ...Why do I have the horrible feeling that the next time Shouma sees his Grand Uncle, he'll be dead or dying? I had STRONG Luke leaving Yoda vibes from it. D: I KNOW WHAT KIND OF TRACK RECORD KAMEN RIDER HAS FOR FRIENDLY MONSTERS, and you KNOW this dude probably knows too much. ...I'm actually really happy to see Hanto defending Gavv like that. I thought he might not fully understand Gavv's motivations for a while longer, but it seems like he knows Gavv's a good guy. I'm a little sad to see my little version of Shouma returning to Akane's didn't come true though. xD ...I'm extremely worried about Hanto's father figure though. I honestly thought he was going to be a Monster of the Week in disguise, but nope...Turns out he's a Monster of the Week's *victim* ; x; . Considering that it almost seemed like this guy was targeted specifically... Is that one Stomack in the Glasses working together with Suga? Is this all to make sure that when Suga offers the Henshin Device, Hanto can't refuse? ...Actually, from how it seems like the disguises for the Monster of the Week are like loaded in little USBs... Can they swap out disguises? Does Suga know all his stuff because he's actually the Stomack in the Glasses in disguise?! ...If it is, I'd guess that he wanted to use Gavv and the Gochizos to take down the other Stomacks... But I have a strong feeling it's to help put him on top, while staying close to Gavv to research him and find ways to easily overwhelm him and get rid of him when they're no longer needed. ...Though there coooooould be the chance he's just helping Gavv from the inside to that the Stomacks down... ...Because HOLY CRAP! So not only are the Monster kidnapping humans to make sweets a horrible crime against humanity... BUT IT'S ALSO ILLEGAL IN THE MONSTER SOCIETY?! What if that Stomack in the Glasses was actually a cop? xD Though I have to say... trying to get the rich and power to get hooked on these treats so they can use their power and influence to make production of it legal... These monsters continue to act like the real-life monsters of humanity. xD Also RIP ZakuZaku Chips #3 and... Hirihiri Chips #1 AND #2? I remember hearing him put in a new one in the middle of the battle. xD As for snacks for next time... People are going to say Chocolate, but I'm going to say this: Go with White Chocolate this time.

Hi Hime :) This was definitely an episode for me, I like my spicy food hehe. Now about the names, Bouche is the French word for mouth, Dente is the Latin word for tooth. With Shoma's siblings all having a name meaning tongue, we stay on the same theme. There's just Shoma who doesn't have a direct link, although apparently some ways of writing his name, through the use of kanji, can use "raw" and the uma of "umami" (one of the five flavors), but there's also the possibility of using the kanji of "smile" or "brushed teeth" in his name. But I think it's mostly for another reason, which is more to your taste (wink). Shoma Stomach, can be read as "Show my stomach", what Shoma does everytime he henshin. For Bouche, I wouldn't put him as a bad guy right away, I know that with Endeavor recently, we seem to have the same pattern, but it's also possible that Shoma, being small at that time, remembers badly or didn't understand everything that was happening. I'm not necessarily defending Bouche, but I think it's possible that they're playing this card. We know that Dente created the system to extract spices, but we also know that the system to capture humans in plates is more recent, before they just had to be kidnapped like Hanto and Shoma's mother. So maybe Shoma's mother was supposed to be used for spices and Bouche saved her (before Lango and the others killed her unfortunately). But we don't know what happens to humans who aren't transformed into plates and emptied of their spices before, would they die the same way ? All this to say that Dente may not have had the idea that his creation would kill humans. Also, didn't Bouche try to make Shoma stronger not only to protect him, but also because the Granutes are a race on the verge of extinction and genetic mixing could be their way to survive ? I know, I'm going off on a tangent with this idea again lol. We also have confirmation that the agents are the minions created by the Stomach family, so the color theme was right. But it also shows that Nyelv is doing things behind the backs of his two younger siblings. I see this as a possibility that: 1 - Nyelv is the biggest human hater and would be our personal enemy since Shoma is half human. 2 - Nyelv could instead become an ally in the future. Finally, Shoma you are a little hypocrite, criticizing your father and great uncle by saying that it was selfish to leave you and your mother sad to protect you, when you just left an old couple to avoid them becoming a target too. My dudes, you do the same thing. But he understands in the end that it is not the solution by letting the boy have his toy and make him happy. Toy King Ohger by the way, the super sentai of the last season, but which was still to be broadcast at the time of filming this episode.

I REALLY don't like Shoma's dad here...I mean, if I had a wife and kid and someone was keeping them in captive misery, I'd probably do to their captors what Shoma did to those agents! Domestic abuse is NOT OKAY! Abuse in general is NOT OKAY!

That was one… SPICY episode? Okay I’ll stop… I noticed this last week but didn’t say anything, but Jeeta and Shibh’s actors (the twin sisters) must have to work quite a bit on their timing since they have to speak their dialogue at the same time quite a bit with the same inflections. As for Dente (the uncle), apparently the first time he ever worked on humans was Shouma - because he’s half human, his Gavv couldn’t produce minions - just as we saw the twins producing those two agents. I’m not sure what Dente’s feelings are on the spice system but he may just see it as another invention. Since Granutes aren’t humans, what would his motivation be to look at it from their point of view, or at least, before he came here and got snack addictions? It sounds like Lango is applying pressure to the rest of his family and doesn’t give a hoot about anyone - you know, one of THOSE characters. And we saw him in the flashback last week, he ordered the termination of Shouma’s mother. The dialogue translation I have on my subs did not specifically use the word “kidnap” at any point - so I’m wondering what was the actual intent of the line. But either way, it is clear that they were being kept sequestered, and they were kept miserable for their own safety. The Dark Confections vary in quality depending on the spice added - think of it like purchasing store bought candy vs premium chocolate, but with the addictive drug added so that the people with money develop a taste for it. First knee jerk reaction when Bouche hits mom is “oh, it’s like that is it?” Second reaction: Was that for her own safety or something? Also, let’s not be too hasty, we all know the things certain series like MHA and Apothecary Diaries have been trying to tell us about that kind of behavior. Let’s wait and see if there’s any more information. As expected, Shouma found his way back to the Anything Agency. I guess thus looks like it’ll be our central location? Wait till Hanto finds out the Kamen Rider is right under his nose… looks like his boss might be in trouble now too… Whenever the Gochizo pops onto the screen it’s like “guess what I’m about to end the episode!” Next week’s snack: and this might be a bit more of a challenge to find: BITTER chocolate.

Ohhhh he was the one who gave the order, wow! Yeah he seems like he'll be one of those characters alright. Yeah the whole kidnapping thing gave some really icky implications...but who knows what the actual meaning was. OHHHH ok, thanks! I was wondering what the difference was between the spice and the actual treats, or if they were like the same thing. That's the thing, I feel like they want me to feel a certain way right now and then they're gonna swerve down the road! I'm glad Shouma found his way back! Lol Gochizos help close the ep, I love it! Ok I can totally work with that snack, a super dark chocolate should work!

I know, it's hard to say if he's really as bad as they're making him out to be, right?? Oh that's true, maybe he did save the mom? Also good point that maybe Dente didn't know. Hmmmm yeah perhaps there was another motive to him making Shouma stronger! Good call about the minions! Ooooh it could really go either way with Nyelv huh? Oh yeah you were right! And that's interesting about the agents, I'll be curious to see if your theory pans out. And good point about the agents coordinating too. Yeah I'm not sure what to make of the dad! It would've been interesting if things had gone like you said, but seeing as what they're giving us now, I'm not so sure what we're supposed to think! Oof, I can totally see the Yoda vibes with Shouma's uncle! Yikes! Hanto defending Gavv was nice, and yeah, I'm getting really worried for the chief / Hanto's dad figure. Yeah it kinda makes sense that Suga is working with them, I'm not sure! If he was an undercover Stomack that would be crazy! I agree, it kinda feels like no matter what side he's on it, it's more self-serving than anything. OMG I know, even the monsters don't condone this!! And undercover cop would actually be a sick plot twist! RIP to all the chips that sacrificed here! Ooohhhh ok, white chocolate, got it!! ^_^

I'm really hoping that'd be the case, because it'd be a fun little gimmick. o: Well... We'll get the full story eventually. Personally I believe there could be a chance the mother and father is acting to protect her and Shouma...Still, bringing them to over to the Stomack's world might be a pretty bad idea, no matter how in love they were. ...We need the full story. D: ... I bet you we aren't getting the full picture until around Gavv's final form. ..Also if I'm going to make a prediction for the final form, it's going to be gum. o: Because look at the last line of the OP's lyrics, and also 'Gummy'... 'Gum'? o: Both can be juicy! I've just seen this scenario too many times in fiction play out like that. ; x; Suga and Nyelv are both scientists, Nyelv knows about Gavv and has been keeping quiet about it, "Suga"...like "Sugar?!" But apparently Suga's(I don't know which part of it) name means sour... but Nyelv in Hungerian means 'Tongue'. You know what can appreciate sweet(Like Suga-I mean, Sugar) and sour things? TONGUES. xD ...I'll have to wait before we can get into my current theory about it, but ask yourself this: Have you seen Nyelv and Suga in the same room or same shot before?! o:< I'll explain why white chocolate next time... But there will be time for milk chocolate sometime later. o: ...Also, I have received the Gochizo! Good news: You will get one extra Gochizo because I didn't get a variant version of the HiriHiriChips. o: Bad news: Since I was looking for the variants versions of the Gochizo, two of the Gochizo bags had been opened. xD I tried to resist the temptation, but I had to know for sure, LOL. I'll send it over tomorrow.

I immediately thought of sugar for Suga because I know that's why Suga from BTS has that name hahahaha! OHHHHHHHHHHHHH that would be wild if Nyelv and Suga were the same person!
