Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to ep 2 of Kamen Rider Gavv!!! Oh dang, we got the PRINGLE FORM up in here!!! This one made me soooo hungry for some chips!! We also got to know our new pretty friend a bit more, and got our first look at the villains. Gotta say, they are KILLING IT in the style dept!!! We also got a bit more info on our reporter friend. All in all, another fun and yummy ep! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

I usually call this form "the power of Lay!" It makes me feel like "I wanna have a bag of Lay". And lucky me that I have some at my home. Also, that phase was so cool! "You wanna drop the dark treat for good, or you wanna get defeated by me?" First thing first, this might be another case our radar for girls get ruined. Pay attention at the villain twin hair color. The one who has the exact same pattern with "Fang Joker" is female, the other one is male. Even his actor a sweet looking boy! We really have to beware ruining our sensory now. I'm not sure if he's an LGBT or not, but even if not, Kamen Rider already have some LGBT characters, such as Oren from Gaim or Naki from Zero-One. Also, some from Zi-O's Spin-off "Rider Time: Kamen Rider Ryuki". I'm not sure if they are really LGBT or not, but they are definitely not just male or female. You know what? There are very least Female Rider during the Heisei era, and they usually don't have any important role. But when it come to Reiwa era, every series main cast will have a female rider. (except Saber) This might be a good sign. Speak of it, people theorize that they seems to show how important the main trio in Gavv's opening. If assuming that Hanto, the free writter guy will be another rider, then Sachika will have a high chance to be one too! Also, this might be a minor detail, but the maiden fron the first ep that Hanto talked to is turned out to be the real murderer of her husband. It is shown that she get arrested in Hanto's cheif labtop which he using it to look for their scoop. And here's come a mystery~! Shouma is about to tell that his surname is "St---" before he quickly zipped it and change to "Inoue". Why's that? Here's my thought. Shouma is actually one of the Stomach villain, those who run the Stomach Inc., and his dad is a Granute, and also the Stomach villain's dad. However, Shouma mom was not the same as them, she's a human. I don't know about Shouma's dad, but I assume that he might be a villain who has turned and become a good person now because of Shouma's mom. So that's why the Stomach villain are considering his death to be a good omen for their plan. "Our father is dead, and that woman is gone" That's what they say. Inoue might be Shouma's mother surname.

First off... ZakuZaku Chips just makes me thing of the cute Zakus from SD Gundam, and how they're always like "ZakuZaku!" xD ...But there we go, the potato chip rider form! I swear there's a like a HINT of Wasp/Bee in the design... At least on the face. This Gochizo's case is used for the Heisei Phase 2 Riders, and from the way the Gochizo opens up mimics the popular way Japan tends to eat Chips in Japan. Not by opening by the top or bottom, but by opening it right in the middle to make it easy for sharing! I love the fact that sword handles are squished bag chips, but the fragile blade is a rather unique concept. The whole 'Cutting at an angle' thing is something that you should keep in mind when actually cutting things with a sword...But personally I feel like they're making the extra point of it here because the toy swords are made out of a foam material. xD I feel like it might flop about if you don't swing it at an angle. Edit: So I just got in the mail, and I'm surprised it's actually sturdier than it looked. From the demonstration I've seen of it, it seemed like it was flopping like it was made of thinner foam material. And did you see the Red Gochizo on the Table? That's the Gochizo type used for Zero-One/Geats Legend Rider Gochizos. ...I'm glad to see the kid make a return on the screen so soon though, I feel like they're not going to get rid of him juuuuuuust yet. ...He might have to share joint custody with Shoma's new mom though. ...Though *damn*... Here I thought that kid's monster drawing was a drawing a kid gave the investigator during his monster hunting... I didn't expect it to be a drawing the investigator himself actually made as a kid. ...And I'm going to point this out because I noticed it in the drawing last episode and now I can't stop thinking about it. ...Is that monster's Gavv *Red*? I don't think that's Shoma if it's the case... But... Just what's the deal behind that? D: Edit: Oh! Almost forgot... RIP ZakuZaku Chips 1. o7 Gotta respect how you got some Poppin' Gummies pushing that little bike to make their chip bro look cool making his entrance. ....Speaking of ZakuZaku Chips, I wonder what Salt and Seaweed chips taste like... If the seaweed flavor is subtle, that's a chip I want to munch on.

Fun fact: Zakuzaku Chip's swords actually follow the logic of eating potato chips. Eat them on the flat side and they'll easily crunch and break, but eat it at an angle and u might puncture the roof and tongue of ur mouth. That's why when he smacked his swords on the side, they broke, but follow the edge of the blades and they'll cut through anything like butter. Another fun detail is if u look closely at his armor, it has the texture of potato chips too, like how his Poppin Gummy form is partially translucent just like gummies

So this week Shoma was able to save someone who got pressed, but a small but dark detail early in the episode shows one of the Stomach Inc. higher ups(?) snapping one that she grabbed off the production line in half. Which highly implies that she just… 😨

Also LOL @ 3:54 🤣 The first series that comes to mind when it comes to lighthearted anime having moments of PAIN... Surprisingly, Bomberman Jetterz. I was honestly shocked to see that the whole meat of the story wasn't a wacky adventure of Bomberman and his Quirky allies.... But a rather sad story about how hard it is dealing with death in the family. Mighty's Theme from that show STILL makes me tear up thinking about it. 😭

Hi Hime :) I wasn't wrong, I was sure you would like the theme. Now, a little element to remember, Shoma says his name is Shoma St-, without finishing his name and gives Inoue instead (surely that of his mother). The villain group are all siblings and run "Stomach Inc", presumably named after their own last name. The twins say "our father is dead and that woman is out of the picture". I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but it's pretty obvious what they're trying to tell us here. For the Stomach family, we have Lango, Glotta, Nyelv and the twins Shita and Jeebh, all these names mean "tongue" in different languages. Besides, Shita is a girl and Jeebh is a boy logically, but I don't really know the direction they want to take, even if I respect that Jeebh presents in a feminine way. I agree with you that Sachika is cute, but seems to be pretty strong anyway. I can't wait to see her character developed. For Hanto, our reporter and who already presents himself as perfect to be a secondary Rider, we now know that the drawing is surely his and that his mother was attacked 18 years ago, by a Granute with a red gavv, Shoma's father ? Also, I read on the networks something that I find interesting, Kamen Rider, the first series is often described as: "a monster fighting his peers and hiding his sadness behind a mask" Kekera also said something like that in Geats about Keiwa, that a real Kamen Rider is someone with a dramatic past, that's why he hides his face behind a mask. So here we have an alien version of the very principle of Kamen Rider, a monster fighting other monsters, but hiding what he feels behind his Kamen Rider mask. Anyway, in two episodes, the series has already set up enough things to turn out to be quite interesting and not as colorful and sweet as one might have imagined.

“My room looks like a tornado hit it…” Does the tornado have four legs and respond to the name Buffy? Also, I do know you do this but… you might want to be somewhat cautious about using the phrase “what the actual FUDGE” on this show? 😂 It looked like he took a Karaage chicken out of the bento box - but apparently only snacks create the gochiko (Sp?) - also that’s gotta be annoying you need a bucket every time. The reporter was referred to as Hanto, and the girl is Sachika (Sacchi for short I think). I’m watching on GeoSubs and their translation of where they are seemed to work better, calling it the “Anything Agency.” Dark Treats/Confections seem to be kinda like narcotics or alcohol, highly addictive with dangerous side effects… also given what we saw in the flashback, did you get any Charlie and the Chocolate Factory vibes? I wonder if there’s a connection between this series and that story inspiration wise. Apparently Stomach Inc./Company wants to increase its “premium product” and needs happy humans. So if you think there are monsters about just pop in Attack on Titan then you’ll be safe. :P The snacks dying is because once the bag of chips is eaten you can’t reuse it is what I guess - same with candy. By the way, not gonna spoil anything but according to the preview it looks like next week may involve soda. Plan accordingly. 👀

Someone suggested that that might be Shouma's dad, which would make sense given the timeframe! HAHAHAHA I love that!! The phrase is great too! Oh thanks for clarifying about the twins! I have noticed they've been casting a lot more female Riders lately! I think that would be a solid main trio honestly. Ohhhh I didn't even realize that about the woman killing her husband! OMG, I did notice that Shouma hesitated, do you think it's all connected with what the villains were saying? I can't wait to find out!

The major theory now is that Shouma was one of the Stomach's siblings, but their mother might be different. If you know about Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, you could understand what I mean.

NGL, while Gavv's baseform has really grown one me... ZakuZaku Chips was one of my two favorite forms. I just wonder about the longevity of the toy sword over time... As for the Red Gochizo, it just uses the same type of Gochizo for the Legend Rider toy molds. o: From the way the kid kind of left the scene, I don't think we're done with him. I'm wondering what they're going to cook up with him. Also LOL, I made that 'mom' comment before I even saw your announcement. xD But from how she treated him this episode, I feel like they're going to have that dynamic if she's a reoccurring character. Like you KNOW if they meet again, she's going to be all: "I've been worried SICK you, buster!" Personally my theory is... What if that's Shouma? Like maybe since his mother didn't get a chance to properly explain to him WHY exactly he shouldn't eat the Dark Treats, he eats it and ends up going berserk. Like that whole Honeycrisp Cereal Gremlin thing from the "ME WANT HONEYCOMB!" kind of level of berserk? ...Actually I was messing around with that theory. xD Personally from how I feel from the introduction, I feel like he might be a villain introduced for Act 2. Like a dude who loved Dark Treats so much, he went directly for the source. I didn't think it could be Shouma's dad, but it does make sense... But is he collecting 'spices' or trying to kidnap women? ...Are Shouma and that Investigator sorta related? > .>; Seaweed snacks are pretty good, though I gotta try some that actually come from Japan sometime. ...They're going to come out with the Zaku Zaku chips, right? xD I know you can buy *one* of the actual snacks from Gavv right now, but it's for a form that has not appeared yet... And there's Gavv Kamen Rider Gummy snacks, but they're not the ones from the show?! xD
