My wife has been building her own computer, and the biggest problem we've had with it is installing the heat sink for the CPU. The problem is that, for whatever reason, the motherboard didn't come with the backplate to secure the heat sink to. Although we bought it at a discount, so maybe that's why. Either way it's been a real hassle to replace... it's an AM4 mount, and our local electronics store just doesn't have that mount in stock. And it's difficult to find online, since it's usually just a part that's included with the motherboard, so it seems to be rare to have to replace it. Eventually she just looked up the specific problem we were having and it turns out someone else had gone through the same thing and already figured out exactly what product we would need as a replacement. The problem was that I was mostly searching by look, but the replacement didn't actually resemble the original part at a glance. So we ordered that for next day delivery, and hopefully everything will be sorted tomorrow.
