I love your reactions especially towards this show since I've never seen it and watching it with you is really fun!

To try to explain his healing/regeneration ability. Think of it like if people were computer files, but when they are hurt a part of the "code" they are made of becomes destroyed. Tatsuya is able to "read" what the code is supposed to look like and restore the "original state" of the code(person). That's how I understand it at least 😅

Yeah I agree, kinda like copying/pasting or restoring a backup. Btw "eidos" means "form" or "image" in Ancient Greek, so he probably overwrites the current state with the "image"

Eidos refers to the Psion information body of a phenomenon, basically information attached to and defining everything in the physical world. Modern Magic operates by altering the Eidos, the underlying information of a target, which in turn affects real-world phenomena. A Magic Sequence targets the Eidos of a target, temporarily overwriting them, thereby changing the associated event and resulting in physical changes. In the case of regrowth the Eidos isn't actually manipulated or altered but the targets own information from some point in the past is overwritten onto the target and in contrast to other magic the result of it is permanent. So where normal healing magic would have to be reapplied again and again while waiting for the body to actually heal, Regrowth works instantly and makes it so as if the injury never happened in the first place.
