Are you sharp-witted, quick on your feet, and eager for adventure? An eccentric inventor, celebrated for his groundbreaking but secretive research, finds himself in desperate need of reliable protectors! A series of incidents has left him convinced that rivals lurk around every corner, plotting to snatch his prized inventions—or worse, snuff him out! Your mission: provide vigilant protection at his private residence and laboratory. But be prepared, folks—rumor has it his very furniture may hide devious surprises, with rumors of deadly, whirring mechanisms waiting to strike! Only the brave and bold need apply for this nerve-wracking task. Don’t let this madcap opportunity slip away—answer the call to guard genius today!

This Overclock adventure is designed for three to five 2nd-level characters. Characters who successfully complete the adventure should earn enough experience to reach 3rd level. While this adventure can be played as part of the campaign that began with Out of the Box and continues with Web of Lies it can also be played as a one-shot.

Much of this adventure is a waiting game for the characters. As such, you might combine this adventure with any of the 3rd-level adventures that appear later in this campaign book, weaving the two together.
