Hey everyone!

Many of you will already know that Foundry VTT have just gone live with their first ever Kickstarter - Ember, but just in case I'm putting this post together to help highlight and make sure everyone knows about it.

The Foundry team have been blurring the lines between traditional TTRPG gameplay and video games for a while now with their incredible VTT platform and Ember pushes that boundary even further. I have been fortunate enough to see some early sneak previews of what the team have been working on and it is honestly mind-blowing.

Atropos and Caeora both have years of amazing work output behind them so there was never any question about the quality of Ember. The artwork, creativity and production is phenomenal. I have never seen anything with this level of scope and ambition in the TTRPG space. Not only have they created an immersive and expansive story for you to play, the system is also a unique sandbox for creating your own adventures.

I highly recommend you watch the video linked above to see for yourselves, and then head to the Kickstarter page to back it!

Here is some more information in the teams own words about what you will find when exploring Ember:

It's mechanically rich. By doing the heavy lifting of running a TTRPG for you, Ember can add discoverable secrets, nefarious traps, scripted events, and thought-provoking puzzles that make this game more engaging than you thought possible.

It's immersive. Ember adds an innovative Vista system so non-combat encounters become richer than ever. There's cinematic music and immersive ambience for every gameplay moment, as well as a comprehensive calendar system with meaningful time of day, weather, lunar cycles, and seasons
It's colossal. Ember has an open world of 25,000 explorable hexes, where more than 1,000 gameplay events weave an epic story with over three years of estimated playtime.

Ember is an online tabletop roleplaying game which is a hybrid between a tabletop RPG and a multiplayer digital game. It has all the elements of a traditional pen and paper RPG but is enhanced with features inspired by video games to create a compelling hybrid of dynamic gameplay and a classical foundation. It is a collaborative storytelling experience for a gamemaster and group of players. Ember has been made specifically to be played online in Foundry Virtual Tabletop and has a ton of additional features, systems, and mechanics to facilitate and enhance gameplay.

There are two ways to play Ember; using the familiar Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition ruleset or using the innovative digital roleplaying system Crucible developed exclusively for Foundry Virtual Tabletop.

Ember is live NOW on Kickstarter from September 3, 2024 until October 2, 2024. By supporting this Kickstarter campaign you will receive the full Ember game - added to your Foundry Virtual Tabletop user account - as soon as it is complete along with lifetime access to patches, content updates, and customer support.
