The Omega in Teyvat - or ‘A God Slayer, Again (this time for good reasons)’ (Post-GoW Ragnarok x Genshin Impact)

When Odin’s forces were confirmed to have been eradicated, the logical consequence was departure.

Ragnarok had still left many people scattered among the realm, yet the process of building back anew for a better society had started. And Kratos didn’t belong in the Norse realm. Not like his son.

Atreus was going to create his own legend, and he knew it was going to be a good one. He taught him well, he made sure the boy became a man and… and that he would be able to better handle the dangers of those that could hurt him.

He was strong, his son was going to make it just right. Even without him.

Still, as he prepared the last supplies needed for the journey through the sea back to the mainland of the continent, Kratos couldn’t help but ponder over the presence of two companions to join him in his trip into the unknown.

Mimir was expected. The head was as aimless as he was about the future and had opted to stick with him, but Freya was a mixed bag to consider- especially since many things had remained unresolved among them.

Their bond was an odd one. There was no love among them, and it was mere respect and understanding that made it work. This wasn’t a friendship, it was a weird thing that was anomalous and yet working despite its many flaws.

Kratos could only assume that the woman was just as lost as he was and that this realm, albeit now free from her original tormentor, no longer felt like home to her. So much had changed, and he couldn’t blame the Goddess for being disillusioned by it.

Hence why he didn’t question her. She had her reasons, just like Kratos had his own to make the trip. And as the boat was loaded with just enough for the journey without making it too heavy, Kratos hopped on board and started to drive them away from the Nordic Landscape.

He didn’t spare a glance behind his shoulders, his mind already made just as his boy had decided to carve the rest of his path on his own. The former God of War was quiet as the boat cut into the glacial mist, reminding him of the brutal experience of living through the Fimbulwinter.

Luckily for him, the cold wasn’t going to erase all the progress he made with his equipment. He wasn’t willing to go for the umpteenth effort to keep himself in a good enough situation to survive a major threat.

Still, there was a chance they weren’t going to face much. During his journey north into the Norse Realms, Kratos had not seen much that could have matched him even if reduced to his fists alone.

Patience was all that was left for him and-

“So, where’re we going, brother?” Mimir inquired, the head seemingly having a knack to pick the right moment to speak. “After all, I doubt we are just going to waddle about and hope to find something interesting.”

Freya didn’t speak up, but Kratos could see a degree of interest to hear an answer to that question. And, truth be told, Kratos had a general idea of where they could go.

“East.”

Mimir hummed. “Oh, East… How far East?”

“Enough to find something to do,” The man remarked, setting a limitation on how much he was investing on the matter. “I remember hearing of some tranquility with just a few ‘issues’ among deities.”

“Why not West?” The head argued. “Truly, I am sure you have still in mind my retelling of the legendary land of Wines beyond the even larger sea.”

“None of the Gods dare to go that far in the sea,” Freya argued. “As much as I would prefer a more specific plan, I believe Kratos has the best idea.”

Mimir grumbled about ‘dumbasses’ and ‘wine-haters’. But as Kratos focused on the lengthy journey up ahead, he couldn’t help but feel something was off. He could tell that it wasn’t the cold mist, no, it was something else. A grumbling that was beyond Mimir and that came from above. Familiar and detested by the weary warrior, reminder of numerous horrible things that had happened in his life. And yet, while he could usually dismiss the noise as a sign of bad weather, there was a detail that made the noise even more worrisome than usual.

“I hear… thunders abound,” Mimir remarked. “A storm is approaching?”

“There are no clouds,” Freya pointed out, eyes narrowed at the skies. “But I hear that too.”

“Brother, I think we should-”

Before Mimir had the chance to finish that sentence, Kratos saw a large flash and then a golden lightning slamming onto the boat. Then, a large explosion tore into the boat and propelled its occupants into the sea, the water suddenly agitated and swallowed them all.

Kratos fought with all his might to keep his head over the water, but something was dragging him down. He thought it was his imagination, but then the brute realized that something was yanking him downward. He glanced to the source of the pull, trailing it to the Blades of Chaos being suddenly rushing down underwater a pair of ethereal green hands squeezing and pulling those deeper.

Kratos recognized the frame, anger manifesting as he felt his lungs filling with water, but not before hurling one last yell he was sure the monstrous woman that once showed herself as his friend was going to hear just right before succumbing to the drowning.

Athena!

It was early in the morning, and the young blonde woman dragged her dull sword around the beach, eyes towards the ocean as she contemplated what to do with it as her belly begged for food.

Should she dare to fish again?

After all, as someone that learned through her own mistakes and experiences, Lumine was aware that such a gamble may as well result in another unexpected companion kind of situation.

“You should definitely fish. Paimon is hungry.”

Lumine wasn’t truly sure she wanted another mouth to feed to add to the list considering how voracious the floating little girl that was Paimon. She just devoured the numerous apples and sunsettias that she had kept for days and days!

She wanted to say no, but Lumine knew a choice was not there for her to make. Hunger was a threat, so was a hungry Paimon, so she prepared her makeshift fishing rod, strong enough for one last difficult pull and then it would break and…

She found something!

The thing was actually quite heavy, so it had to be something rather juicy and tasty. Something big enough to satisfy her and Paimon for a few hours. Yes, Lumine was not letting it get away from her!

Still, it was pulling back quite hard, but Lumine was a determined woman. She had plans to find her brother, reunite with him, punish the scary bitch that kidnapped her bro, and then go back home.

That was the plan and this was step one- feeding herself and her black hole of a Paimon!

Mustering what strength she had left after that centuries-old confrontation, her body having yet to recover everything, Lumine managed just barely to pull all at once and sent the fish flying over their heads and on the grass just beside the pearly beach.

The fishing hook was broken so Lumine ditched it, following Paimon to check what fish she caught. And prevent the floating girl from devouring the fish before she had a bite out of it.

Turns out that the fish was not a fish. And that it was awake and menacing. A glance was enough to put Lumine in a binder. Glancing at her sword and then at Paimon, she realized that the muscular bald man with burning red blades looked like the kind of threat she just couldn’t beat.

“P-Paimon is tastier!”

The aforementioned Emergency Food snapped her gaze at Lumine.

“HEH?! Paimon is not tasty!”

“You- You definitely are. Get her, not me!”

“Lumine! I thought we were friends!”

Meanwhile, Kratos tried to make sense of what was going on, where he was, and… what was he supposed to do with these two?

“Girl?”

“Y-Yes, sir?”

He held back a smirk.

That could work.

Wrath of Vajra

Oh, I can tell Kratos is gonna have a lot of fun with these two, I look forward when Kratos instills the fear of DISCIPLINE in them, and we know how much Kratos loves that word!

Slayer 10321

Those poor Hilichurls...they're going to be donating so many Red Orbs to Kratos. Sucks to be them.

Blackouto000

Ah yes, the God of BOI (and "Button Mashing") appears.

Kratos can definitely handle anime land. Wonder how he’ll feel about the local gods and their brand of insanity.
