Great episode - this dude offers a really interesting breadth of knowledge. I just want to note that it’s quite easy for most people to get complete proteins out of a vegetarian diet (although some folks have a hard time absorbing non-heme iron). Also, quinoa actually is a complete protein - so there’s at least one complete plant protein I’m aware of. That said, I understand that, as Kowalski said, it’s not tenable to turn all pasture land into crop land for vegetarian production right now. We should keep pushing however we can, though. It’s imperative we make a transition, for the sake of our planet and to alleviate the mass suffering we impose on the sentient life we’ve collectively labeled “meat.” Also, it’d be super neat to get greenhouse complexes going in the US. I read a story in Nat Geo years ago and have been fascinated since. Google “How the Netherlands Feeds the World” if you’re at all interested, friends.

Great show! I've got two questions for Kowalski: 1. What are the most significant barriers to implementing a greenhouse dominant food supply? 2. Do you have any good research, articles, etc on doing carbon sequestration by farming vegetation for burying along shorelines? Would love to read more and share
