As we get closer to the end of the month and many Americans had their family time with Thanksgiving, this week marked a milestone to the progress of my work. I was able to not only finish off the reviews of the movies that came out this month, but I finished off working on all the new animated musicals. As you know, they take extra time because I have to also talk about the songs, but now that they're done, it feels like some weight is off my back and I won't have to worry about making more big reviews like these for a good while. Yes, there are still a bunch of new releases I'll have to work on in December, but they won't be as intense as the animated films of November. With that said, here's what my week looked like.

- Created & Released my review of Wish: As you know from the last blog, I was able to catch an early screening of Disney's Wish. After doing my whole review and seeing the different reactions, it feels weird that the tables have turned. I know I've have my fair share of movies I thought were bad that critics were a lot more forgiving, but this is a rare moment for me where I enjoyed this movie, but the critics slammed this film hard. There is a part of me that does feel sorry for the film because I can see where there is more good than bad. Sure, I agree that it's not their best picture and the nostalgia does get in the way from the storytelling, but the team at Disney still nailed most of the other elements like the animation is lovely, the characters are charming and that soundtrack is great (over time, songs like This Wish, At All Cost and Knowing What We Know Now grew on me and I still listen to them today). Like I said in the review, Wish is on the same level as Pixar's Elemental where they're not the studios' best, but they are still good in their own right and deserve to have a fanbase of their own. We'll see what the future holds for this movie, but I do hope time will be more caring to the picture than how some people are treating it now.

- Created my review of Leo: After going through a bunch of music-themed movies this month, I made it to the last musical I need to review this year, Leo. I honestly never had much of a thought beforehand, just that Netflix has another animated movie coming out around American Thanksgiving time. However, the factor of having Adam Sandler included did not make me worried. I never thought that this was gonna be another Eight Crazy Nights or Hotel Transylvania. Nowadays, the Happy Madison films, or the movies he's on recently, have been more favorable with critics and audiences. All I was hoping for is that those same results could also apply to this movie and actually have a good animated Adam Sandler movie for once. I won't say what I think now, but I'll have the review set to be released for next week alongside the Under the Boardwalk review. It's gonna be an interesting double-review for that time with two surprisingly similar features to analyze.

- Preparing the Reviews for December: As I was able to get the Wish and Leo review done, I didn't want to immediately jump into the next big video immediately. What I'm doing so far this weekend is preparing the reviews I'll have to do for next month, including Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, Migration, and yes, I will be also reviewing The Boy and the Heron. Of course, I'm not starting those reviews immediately (I mean, the movies are not out yet). I'm only doing the prep up work needed so that I'll be ready to review these pictures, including gathering the materials like clips and music, and setting up the intros. They'll be like small side projects to prepare myself mentally before getting into the next big video to work on. Might as well have those out of the way so that I can move forward and not worry about them coming while I'd be unprepared. I'll work on the big stuff in the meantime, and then jump straight into the reviews when the time comes.

So that's been my week and crossing over the halfway mark of what I need to do with my videos for the rest of the year. It honestly feels great getting these reviews done because now I can focus more on not just the bigger videos that will be coming soon, but also the holidays and make sure I got all the gifts I'm giving this year. There's still more to do, but the bigger challenges are over. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

just asking. Are you planning on reviewing diary of a wimpy kid Christmas cabin fever?
