It's always rewarding when you got a big assignment done, and that was the big achievement for this week for me. After several weeks in production, AL: The Muppets Part 4 is finally done and ready to make its comeback next week! I was a little worried if I'd end up behind with my planned schedule, but now with that part out of the way, I can set my focus on the smaller projects and have those ready for next month. Of course, that's the short story of my week. Here it is in long form.

- Released my review of The Fox and the Hound: While it may not be among the most popular movies that Disney Animation produced, it is a feature that does have a decent-sized fan base because of its emotional power. That's what I think makes the reactions to the review interesting, either people forgot about this film or that they love it so much. For me, this ended up falling into the middle. Not one of Disney's best and some elements could use some improvement to make the emotions stronger and more effective, but for what it did, it managed to do what it can while in the middle of significant time where the old animators passed the torch to the new ones. Not the most memorable Disney movie, but I did had fun making this review, including the sponsored plug where I got use Slade as a data stealer. But for next time, we'll be going a little more modern with our Disney movies as we'll be looking at Pixar's Cars. I've already reviewed the sequels when they were released in theaters, but now we're driving to the original that began the franchise. Get your Kachows and Owen Wilson wows ready!

- Finished editing Animation Lookback: The Muppets Part 4: At long last, I finally finished off the next part and AL: The Muppets will be making its 2023 debut! There wasn't a whole lot left to edit and put together. It was mostly the revisions so that the Puppet AniMat scenes with the green screen looks good and ready to put it on the air. However, the biggest challenge that I found myself in the end was trying to find the behind the scenes footage of Jim Henson and his team producing Muppet*Vision 3D. I know Defunctland used a good-quality clip on his video, but I want to know when that can be found. It would be perfect for me to use in the future (you'll see ;)), but for now, I am using an alternative for Part 4. I found a few documentaries and videos of Jim and his days at Disney. Either way, I can't wait to bring back this show next week!

- Starting the next AniMat's Classic Reviews: Now with the first big video of the year done, I can finally start advancing on a few smaller upcoming videos like the next ACRs (especially when the one after The Fox and the Hound is planned for a few weeks). Of course, as mentioned above, I'll be looking into Cars. It's honestly been a while since I've seen this movie, since I only watched it to prepare myself for the sequels. However, I don't have high hopes because I don't have much memories about this movie. I don't recall hating it, but the most that I can recall was that this was one of the rare Pixar films that didn't do much for me, especially when I don't care about cars in the first place. Who knows? Maybe my mind will change when I revisit this film and find some new appreciation, but we'll see how it goes.

And that was my week with one big part down, and now it's time to move on to the next videos. The only thing that will be left will be to upload and see how people will react. Already feeling excited and I also feel like this is where the good start of 2023 is. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

Glad to hear Part 4 of Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets is complete and ready for next week. We’ve been waiting for Part 4 and the wait is finally over. And you’ve done a good job with the other 3 parts, so we can definitely expect Part 4 will match the quality standards of the first 3 parts and won’t be a disappointment. Even if you’re not a fan of Cars, at least I know your review will be slightly positive compared to Doug Walker’s Disneycember review and James Schaffrillas’ “Why Cars Is Conceptually a Bad Franchise”; which the latter I’ve never watched nor will I ever.

I’m not sure, but I can imagine animat giving cars a 7/10. It’s probably going to turn out as one of those Pixar films where it’s not their best work, but it’s still an enjoyable watch.

I just hope I can remember what time I should put on my calendar for the next part. Unfortunately, I’m either a late sleeper, or I should go to bed earlier. I usually try to do so when you have the podcast on Mondays.
