Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...except for this mouse. In fact, this mouse kept on stirring every day of the week to get the show running more so than usual. I don't know if I've ever done this before, but I managed to put out 3 videos in one week. It's unusual for sure, but this is one of those rare cases that calls for it as we're getting closer to the holidays. With that said, here's how my week has been.

- Released my review of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish: I've already watched this about a month ago when the movie was released as a public early preview. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect out of this one, but it turned out to be amazing. I'd even say that this was better than The Bad Guys. DreamWorks really nailed most aspects here to make this the best film in the Shrek franchise since Shrek 2. That new animation style is beautiful, the story is fun and surprisingly thought provoking and I love the new villain characters with each giving out a different flavor. It really did bring back that fairy tale fun like in Shrek's early years and it makes me feel excited to watch DreamWorks movies again! They're going in a new direction with their movies and I can't wait to see more of what they got...Well, maybe not Trolls 3, but after that.

- Released my vlog review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules and Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again: I've been getting messages often regarding some of the streaming movies that recently came out and I honestly felt exhausted seeing them, especially when I already had so much on my plate. Then again, while I know I could skip the Netflix stuff like Scrooge no problem, I guess I couldn't really ignore the Disney+ ones. I decided, as a way to save time, instead of making fully scripted and edited reviews of each of them, I'd do one big vlog-style review of both at the same time, especially when they both have some strong similarities. I knew I shouldn't be expecting much out of them, and while Wimpy Kid turned out weak, Museum was a bit of a surprise that, while not really good, I did have a bit of fun with it and impressed with some of the animation. I know this is different from me to do this, especially making a review that's over 70 minutes long, but under the circumstances I"m in, this was the best solution I could think of doing.

- Released the AniMat Watches of Elf Bowling: The Movie: Originally, I was planning on doing an AniMat Watches of The Mean One, the Grinch-themed horror movie, since they originally announced that they would release it for free on YouTube. Unfortunately, they decided to scrap those plans and put it up on the big screen for a limited time. I'm still planning on doing an AniMat Watches of that, but maybe for next year. Instead, I decided to go with one that a friend of mine suggested, Elf Bowling: The Movie. This was my first experience with the film and...oh boy was this one special. It's like several components from past bad movies I've watched came back for a new crazy experience. We got a Tom Kenny villain, weird almost unfinished animation, a sexy evil redhead girl, and the added surprise of a pro-slavery song. It was a real piece of madness there. Then again, it's the kind of crazy that AniMat Watches was made for.

- Preparing Holiday Messages: Honestly, I haven't gotten a lot of time to do some more video work this week, especially with the holidays coming closer and I have to prepare for that. What I did was mostly to finish off whatever work was needed for the rest of the year. Not just uploading this week's videos and adding some extra touch-ups like adding the newly-released The Last Wish soundtrack, but I also wrote several messages that will be posted on my YouTube community page regarding updates of what will be to come both during this week and in 2023 (I'll tell you about those on the next Update Blog so you will be the first to know). It took some time to write them, but I figured to get them out of the way so that I could give more focus to preparing for Christmas and whatever work that's left for next year. Speaking of which.

- Started Writing Part 4 of Animation Lookback: The Muppets: I wish I had more time to have this done this month, but with all those reviews in the way, I had to go and delay that again for next month. Either way, I'm glad to be back working on this again instead of flooding myself with reviews like before. Granted, because of all the Holiday preparations, I wasn't able to do a whole lot or even get half of it done. Like the title suggests, I'm only starting the script and getting myself back into the groove of AL like writing the intro and a segment or two of Jim Henson's career and where the Muppets were as we get closer to the infamous Disney deal. I know that this will be a juicy part, and I can't wait to uncover what really went down in Jim's final years.

And that's been my week with the final preparations complete before the big day. With that said, I'd like to wish you all Happy Holidays and may your final days of 2022 be magical. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and many more. Thank you all so much for the love and I love you all as much, and until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

Merry Christmas, AniMat! I had a wonderful Christmas yesterday and got to see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish in theaters, which was a wonderful Christmas gift and was definitely as great as you said it was. I look forward to part 4 of Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets and your Top 5 Best & Worst Animated Films of 2022.
