Does Anybody Know What's Coming Next Month? I'm Sort Of Confused.

I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a kid but now whenever I go back to James and the Giant Peach it always feels like the movie is missing something I don’t know maybe that’s just me, but there are a couple of things to note about this movie first is that Miriam Margoyles actually plays 2 characters in the movie she’s Aunt Sponge and I believe she’s either the Glow worm or the Ladybug I can’t remember which one if anyone knows feel free to let me know. Also they did actually make a stage play out of this, I know because when I was in either 3rd grade or 4th grade my school actually did a performance of James and the Giant Peach and we all got peaches during the performance it was actually a lot of fun and I do recommend looking it up if you don’t believe me. As for the next review I honestly have no idea as I’m not all that familiar with Japanese film but whatever it is it should be interesting. Something else to note about James and the Giant Peach is that this coming Monday will be the movies 25th anniversary so the timing of this review is actually kind of perfect

While it has been a long time since I’ve seen James And The Giant Peach, I would say I definitely agree with you. While I don’t think it’s a great movie it is still at least enjoyable. For me personally I definitely think that the Stop Motion parts are the best parts of the film while the live action scenes at the beginning are just meh. Not the best Roald Dahl adaptation but it still a fun film and has a lot of things worth admiring. Also that scene where Jack Skellington is a pirate captain in that sunken ship is always a scene I really like. Also I honestly have no idea what the next classic review is going to be so it should be interesting. Also that is a really funny thumbnail for the video that you used.

I only seen the movie twice one on Cartoon Network and on Netflix and I thought it was okay. I think it because I didn’t grew up with it during my childhood and didn’t have much connection to it. Yeah I agree the animation looked good especially having Jack Skellington was fun and the three songs except the beginning were okay I mean this is Randy Newman we’re talking about and like the movie, this isn’t one of Randy Newman’s best work. As for the bugs characters, it has some moments but not memorable either. For the rest, I didn’t think they handled the tone very well nor the humans characters like the Aunts although they looked freaky upon seeing them for the first time. Overall, I thought it was okay at best and I know there are people out there that do love this movie while consider it as one of biggest nostalgia films out there. I prefer Matilda since Danny DeVito handled this movie terrific including the tone, characters such as Matilda, her parents, Miss Honey, and Miss Trunchbull who she is basically the James’s Aunts done right, his direction, the writing, and an interesting story. I grew up with that film so I recommend watching that film in case you guys haven’t seen it. For James and the Giant Peach, it okay but not great. Can’t wait for Paprika since this is Satoshi Kon’s last feature film before he passed away and I have yet to watch it which I will since my mom has it so I’ll be curious to see what you think of that film after I see Paprika myself.

James and the Giant Peach was one of my favorites as a kid, and I’m glad to see it here! Honestly, though, I never minded the part where you reiterated your points from your reviews; I always watched the whole thing, no matter what. Anyways, we now leave something I’m very familiar with and go to a Japanese film I’ve never heard of. Hope it’s good! :)

Although, that centipede actually has a scary smile. I didn’t realize it until the ACR came up today. Huh. Weird times.

I remember watching this as CN waaaay back in the day. Didn't know what to make of it. Its definitely hard to forget.

James and the Giant Peach would have to be one of my favorite stop motion films right next to The Nightmare before Christmas. I especially love it for its creative use of stop motion animation and the bug characters that made the movie a lot of fun.
