As you may remember, when I initially released Hex there were issues with the browser version of the game because of its overall file size being over 500 MB. I basically axed down the game to fit it, and this is more or less the version of the game on the web now, though I did clean a few things up between the patreon release and the free release of the alpha. Anyway, I've been working on experimental changes to shrink the game size down, and I've actually backported most of these changes to SS, meaning that game is getting a haircut too. The game will be 15-20% smaller than before. These aren't huge savings, but they are important, especially for Hex!

Because these changes involve things like the game's engine and build process, and have potentially far-reaching effects, it is possible that there may be bugs or other problems. Most of these will probably manifest as images not showing up or audio not playing. If you experience any issues like this, please let me know!

Backporting these changes to SS's version of the engine lets me test them in a more familiar environment, and with a larger install base that's familiar enough with the game to know when an song or image that's supposed to show up doesn't. I don't necessarily expect there to be any bugs, but I have a limited ability to test various browsers and systems and configurations, and with a change this major, I just can't be sure.

And finally, the patch is of course coming out tomorrow, probably tomorrow morning. I'm wrapping up the last of Rais's dates now, so cutting it a little close ;P
