It's come to my attention recently that Succubus Stories (and maybe Hex, too, I'm not sure) is listed for download on a website called GameFabrique. This is a pretty well-known scam site, and I'm certain any version of the game downloaded from there, if they even included the game at all, would be chock full of viruses, so please don't download anything from this website.

Itch.io is the only official source for game files; I scan the files I upload to make sure that none of the dependencies or third-party software I use is malicious or infected. Nothing is 100% for sure, but the files distributed via Itch.io are as safe as I can make them for you all.

My games are also listed on F95zone, and these files are mirrored and re-uploaded by that site's staff. While I don't think any of them would purposefully distribute malware, I know they use automated software to create these mirrors, and that is a potential attack vector for anyone who isn't extremely vigilant. Again, I recommend using Itch.io if at all possible.

Note that if you scan my game, NW.js, the browser shell I use, does sometimes trigger false positives, usually for being a trojan, though this usually only happens in older/outdated antivirus software, so maybe try updating that if you haven't for a while. NW.js can be used to create trojans, as can any type of software that can generate executables, so old virus definitions sometimes just sloppily labeled the whole thing as a virus as a shortcut. It would be like labeling all Unity games as viruses because a few pieces of software made with C# installed malware on your PC.
