The artwork's actual resolution remains the same, but I've cleaned up some noise, artifacts, and aliasing in a lot of the game's art. This is actually a rather massive and noticeable bump in visual fidelity, particularly to the characters' hair, though you can see stark improvements in shadows, wet skin, and certain other materials as well.

Because I used software to do this instead of re-rendering or remastering each image by hand, some detail, like skin blemishes, were lost or "smoothed" out of the images. In the above comparison, you may notice that the skin under Paige's eye on the left is a little flatter and smoother, missing a bit of detail. You can see a similar smoothing effect in portions of her hair where the individual strands are totally lost in some shinier parts. However, when the image isn't as zoomed in, the minor loss of detail isn't noticeable, but the dramatic reduction in noise and artifacting is.

I'm happy with the results overall, and I think the improvements do a lot for the overall look of the game without breaking the bank by trying to include higher-res images for everything instead.
