Hey everybody, I wanted to message you about this now before the changes go live.

On July 1st (not June 1st, so this is still about a month away), Patreon will be adding sales tax to all applicable pledges on Patreon, which will mean in most situations, the amount you pay for your pledge will be increasing slightly. First and foremost, I want to be extremely clear that this is NOT Patreon's decision - this is a Government-mandated change, not something Patreon is choosing to do. All of the sales tax goes immediately to the Government, and Patreon has no choice in whether or not they implement it. People are often quick to jump on the hate bandwagon when Patreon makes changes like this, so I want to be as clear as possible that it's not their decision, and quitting Patreon/no longer supporting creators on here will not make Patreon reverse the changes, because this new sales tax is legally required and they have no say in the matter.

That being said, however, I completely understand if the increased charges mean any of you have to lower your pledge, or stop supporting me, and rest assured there are no hard feelings about it if you do need to do either of those things. I just want to make sure that everybody is informed about what's happening, and that there are no misunderstandings about why it's happening. If you have any questions, feel free to either ask me and I can try to explain to the best of my knowledge, or message Patreon support and they can give you more information! Patreon themselves will be sending out a message about this on June 1st, as well, so you can likely find more information in that email.

Anyway, that's about it for the sales tax changes. Thank you for supporting, everyone, whether you stay at your current pledge or not after these changes! Development on Crisis Point is going MUCH better this week, and I look forward to showing some stuff off in our weekly update. See you again then!
