Hey everybody! Just wanted to make a real quick post to let you all know how things are going. The HTML5 demo isn't done yet, but I am making pretty decent progress on it - I had hit a massive wall for a while where I couldn't even get past the menus and into gameplay, largely because a lot of the quirks of HTML5 are really strange and not really explained well, so it's been a lot of trial and error, but yesterday I was finally able to break past that and get the port ingame. The good news is that gameplay works better than I expected it to, from what little I was able to test so far - there's still plenty of softlocks and glitches, but my biggest fear, the collision engine, is actually working perfectly as far as I've seen. I doubt the port will be done before a month is up, but I'm definitely gaining some confidence now that it'll be possible, at least!

In case anybody hasn't seen it or forgot, I'm going to continue working on the HTML5 demo until about a month has passed since the v0.33 release. That leaves roughly a week left, although if I'm getting really close to finishing it I MIGHT push that a little further.. we'll see though, I don't want to interrupt primary development for too long.

Anyway, that's all I have for this week! A big warm welcome to all of our new supporters coming in from the public demo! I can't overstate how much we appreciate all the support everyone, it means everything to us as a small team. I'll see you in the next update!

Just so I'm sure. Has the overgrown area with the Alarune's and catacombs been removed in 0.33? I used to never have a problem getting to them before, but now I seem to be either stuck or at the end. I think I'm stuck though, since you usually have an end of demo message. I can't even get to the second boss this time around. The smallest little lip of a platform seems to be blocking my way.

They were definitely not removed, you're just stuck. What lip of a platform are you talking about? I know you can definitely get through to the end of the Catacombs in v0.33, so if you know the proper route through the Summit I'm honestly not certain which part you're stuck at, would you mind describing it or getting a screenshot?

Okay, well figured out how to get to the Summit Boss now, but still it seems like unless I have a double jump or something then I have nowhere else to go. Can't get passed X54 Y18, nor X48 Y16, or X17 Y26, or X17 Y22. Everywhere else seems blocked off by black blocks. The only other spot is the door at X54 Y22 which I think I could open in past demos but can't seem to figure out now.

The place to go after the 2nd boss is back into the Caves. You kinda have to head down and left, until you reach a room with a laser wall hanging off of a ceiling. You have to dash through that laser wall to reach the Deep Soil, and progress through there to get another ability that helps you progress further

Alright. I think either there is a room on the map that isn't showing a door, or I'm just really dumb. I can't find this laser wall hanging off a ceiling. I can find the area where you exit the deep soil, but I've gone as far to the lower left as I can and I've got a black block in my way. I think you downloaded the public demo man, not v0.33 :p The public demo ends after the 2nd boss, and the point you're showing is blocked off in it, just like it is in your screenshot. Check the main menu and make sure it says you're playing v0.33 h1, not Public Demo v1.0!

Okay, after playing the correct demo and having no issues, I did find one odd thing. If you upgrade flare shot abilities to the point where you get the orbiting fireballs, you can use those to get rid of those blocks you shoot to get rid of. However it's a bit slow since they burn. If you can kilo grip onto one of those floating blocks, when it burns away, Alicia just sort of floats in the air.
