Patrons!

Here it is, part two! Our first set of documentaries is now live. Almost an hour telling the story of Psyonix and Rocket League! I am so tired I barely had the energy to crawl out of bed to type this. The release schedule for this was way more frantic than I would have liked but what's most important is both videos show what Noclip is all about.

Patrons can expect early access to extended interviews, and a special behind-the-scenes episode of us filming it in the coming days. We'll also be announcing our SECOND PROJECT in the coming days. In fact, I'm flying out tomorrow morning so I'm going to try and get some rest between now and then.

Thank you so much for making this happen. If you're a new patron, thank you for joining. If you were hear from the start, thank you for helping me build this.

Tweet it! Share it! Show it to your cat! Let's get more people in here so the next doc is even better!

The Story of Rocket League (Part 2) - How to Launch a Rocket

In part two of Noclip's look into the development of Rocket League, Danny talks to Psyonix about the decision to go with PlayStation Plus, the disastrous server problems at launch and what success has meant to the studio. Influence free games coverage, funded by gamers.

Keep up the good work Danny but rest is important too!

how soon are the extended cuts coming out?

I appreciate your excitement and wanting to hit the ground running, but also would hate to see you burn out and stop enjoying making these. Take your time with the next one.

Great job on these 2 videos. Both were awesome. I'm going to echo what Aaron said, take your time. No reason to burn out doing these and you have the benefit of not doing preview coverage or launch day reviews, so do it right and take some time off between shoots :)

Jeff Freeman

So awesome Danny! Rocket league is one of my favorite games, it was really cool to learn more about it. Can't wait to see what you have in store next.

Thomas Kaspersen

I've become more and more into these kind of documetaries, so this is right down my alley. Even though I dont play rocket league very much, this story really was interesting, so no matter what stories you make next, I'm pretty sure I'll like it👍

So, not sure if you've answered this question somewhere already, but I'm curious to know what the potential third part was going to be about, had it seen the light of day... Oh, and awesome job, of course. But well, I didn't expect any less. ;-)

Great work Danny! Great story! Shout out to Jeremy Jane for the great camera work as well! ;)

Great work Danny. Definitely go along with some of the earlier comments though about working yourself too hard, gotta strike that work life balance so whilst I'm pleased to see that the second doc is already in full swing I don't want to see you burn out mate - hopefully you're not feeling pressure from the success of this Patreon to feel that you must churn these docs out at a high rate!

Khetix

I'm so impressed with these. Excellently crafted storytelling. I hope you sat back and really enjoyed your finished product, Danny!

This was so much fun to watch and it gave me such an excellent insight into how much work, love and determination goes into creating a game that you love. I too am going to suggest that as much as I would love a documentary each week. Give yourself a moment to enjoy this, it's only the beginning. Can't wait for the extras!!

Brandon K Gann

This was so great. Well done and a phenomenal job! Personally, part 2 was slightly better than Part 1, but because this format is what we can expect, every project is going to be grade A high quality stuff. Keep up the awesome work!

Brilliant Danny, well done buddy. Really enjoyed the docs. Looking forward to the extended interviews, those guys seem really interesting. Same as everyone else above me though, take it easy and get some rest if you can. We'll all still be here!

Clay A Binkley

Another great doc, Danny! I have a feeling I'm gonna be saying that for a while.

Incredible. Even knowing that the docs would be fantastic, I'm still blown away.

Well done Danny these were great, you've really nailed the formula. Keep up the good work you're really onto something with no clip

Ok I knew coming into this series that they will be good. I've been a fan for some time but man you've outperformed all the expectations I had. To give something useful - maybe it was my phone but the video looked a bit stronger on grey-ish tones? I don't know whether those were the lightning system, weather or post production color rebalancing. That's me neat picking. Because I'm here sitting with a happy grin and a desire for more docs and content! Great job Danny!

This was wonderful. Even as someone who has barely ever played Rocket League I was immediately hooked. Can't wait for the next one!

Danny, you pulled it off!!!

Excellent documentaries, Danny. Loved them. Reminded me of the hours I used to love playing Onslaught in UT2004. Damn, I need to play Rocket League now.

Danny, sir, this story is incredible!!! Seriously eager to see what you have coming next. It's gotta be nice for the gamemakers too, ya know, now they have a way to say "hey, this is what happened" beyond going on reddit and trying to explain a thing. Just so cool. I barely have time to play much anymore but I will never stop calling video games a hobby and you are helping with that.

Amazing job Danny!!! What an incredible start to your new journey! Very symbolic to start with Rocket League... Just as Psyonix took a chance by launching Rocket League free on PS+ and succeeded, you risked the comfort and safety of Gamespot to start noclip, and so far so great! Cheers mate!

Stefan Gancer

Great stuff. Just take my money.

Wow!! So interesting, amazing story!! :)
