Heya,

Friday funday and first part of octane shading tutorial. This is the simple type of can, soon part B is coming up for more advanced users.
Testing also new octane at the moment cause it has some great additions about packshots. For the moment lots of bugs especially in sss etc.

Will do a bonus video to show u some cool new features when are finally fixed.

Definitely a curious thing, I love the idea of re-VDB op to cut off the intersection, my thoughts are if it cuts off and it’s too far away you get too much glow I’ve noticed and to keep it super clean and close you need once again a pretty high voxel (pretty low) voxel count. I’m curious if you’ve tried this method with moving drops and if it still works, or if it starts to flicker a bit? Thanks for the wisdom per usual!

Yea needs precision! and it works. If u ask me everything here is just an approach. If i had to do this in commercial i d manually setup the droplets. Usually clients are picky about product condensation. ps. new octane has nested dielectrics so we can do these booleans now :) will do a video soon on the glass bottle

I’m actually super intrigued with the nested Boolean dielectric operations in the newest updates so that will be awesome to see, can’t wait!!!
